About a month ago the RTP were actually requesting help from abroad - http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/20/thai-police-koh-tao-fbi-british-backpacker-murders

This never was allowed to happen and instead within days 2 kids were framed for it.

Now the UK is offering what the RTP requested a month ago and the General tells them to p1ss off!? Do none of you nay sayers think that it odd?

No

not odd at all. 3 days after they announced that arrests would be made. They were made. DNA results back. Case to be sent to prosecution.

How hard can it be. Thailand's star qualified DNA specialist said the testers were not qualified!

Porntip also said two double murders certainly needed a forensic physician basically saying the police were incapable of doing it themselves.

I / we don't know who is guilty, but we do know their are at leat 3 people who need to do some serious explaining.

If I was in the position of the student in Bangkok I would be asking anyone to give me a DNA test to prove my innocence, and my lawyer would be in overdrive issuing libel actions.

What's any of this got to do with, race, creed, color, wealth, religion or politics?

This is a tragedy for everyone involved.

It says everything about the greed and corruption that is the human race.

This is not even about the murder of two innocent people.

This is about the difference between good and evil.

issue is everyone wants it to be a cover-up.

The funny disgraceful thing is how desperately those crying "stitch up!" are on the same breath trying to frame other people up on absolutely no evidence at all.

To top it off the ghouls are already using this to score political points.

SADLY they think that they know who is guilty. Based solely on Internet sleuthing and an amateur sleuthing website

If you have provided an acceptable alibi then no DNA testing is needed. So many people say the police are not trustworthy. I would never volunteer a DNA sample.

If charged I would only give it in the presence of my attorney and with continuous oversight.

I certainly would be looking at both criminal and civil defamation cases as well as going after websites publishing defamation.

Edit -- many on here claim to know

Love the GT2000 as a defence for not following DNA protocol / standards.... haha, funny one.

Just like ignoring the almost 100,000 people who believe it is a set up, or ignoring the fact that the senior Thai rep in the UK was 'summonsed', or ignoring the fact that the crime scene was contaminated, or that official police reports have been...fluid, at best on certain issues.

There is a lot out there to ignore!

Although, I guess it is hard to ignore the fact that tourist numbers were dwindling before this, and especially from the UK......I is now doubting that there will be many young teens full of travel excitement with Thailand anywhere on their to-go-to list - that must be a hard one to ignore?

So we have Britain summoning a charge d'affaires, Burma calling for a fair trial without scapegoats, NGO's giving legal representation due to the belief the accused are innocent, tens of thousands signing petitions. The majority of the Thai general public don't believe the RTP, it has been a complete cockup by the police from day one.

Yet we have a handful of bizarre posts from nieve members that just want to believe everything that's handed to them from the all so honest Thai police force.

Thailand could make this all go away by inviting either UK or Myanmar to scrutinise the so called evidence.

Last sentence somes it up, IF their was nothing to hide then PM could issue a statement that he was greatly concerned by the allegations of scapegoats and corruption

and would like to offer 100% unrestricted access to a Uk team of investigators with full use of Uk forensics etc for them to come to their own conclusion which he totally believes will mirror the findings of the RTP and finally show the world they have been wrong in their misgivings.

Simply this will not happen because no one being above questioning or testing ................might reveal the ugly truth.

No leader of any country would do as you suggest. If you think I am wrong please provide an example of when that has happened.

Mr JD

without lightning this serious issue, as an expert on Thai Police investigations, please explain the Red Bull Granson incident......Thai on Thai no ferrang's involved....Please enlighten us with your thoughts.

I am not an expert on the RTP nor have I ever claimed to be.

I don't even know why bail is granted in serious cases here.

I don't think that's correct although it's difficult to tell with all the statements being given.

On the 23rd September they now had enough evidence and had detained the suspects for questioning and expected arrests by the end of the week.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/762739-southern-police-chief-enough-evidence-in-british-tourists-murder-case-to-make-arrest-now/

On the 29th September they were looking for 3 suspects. Unless they escaped they must be different from the ones they had enough evidence for on the 23rd September

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/764389-thai-police-pursuing-3-suspects-in-british-couples-murder/

On the 1st October they had enough evidence again and expected to issue an arrest warrant in 2 - 3 days.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/764991-arrest-warrant-for-koh-tao-murder-suspect-to-be-issued-in-3-days/

On the 2nd October they detained three migrant workers.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/765171-police-detain-three-migrant-workers-on-koh-tao-for-dna-test/

Also on the 2nd one of them confessed.

Here's a suggestion to reduce the clutter on all these threads. Can we agree to just ignore jdinasia. johnthailandjohn et al. Let them speak freely of course as they will undoubtedly keep defending the "authorities" in this appalling case no matter how many holes are revealed and blunders and ridiculous statements made. But is it really necessary to respond to them in every instance?

Exactly. The more we feed these characters, the bigger they get. Ignore them, and they will fade back into their cheap beer.

By this characters you mean people that want to be actual evidence before stringing someone up?

Lynch mentality has never tolerated discussion.

No it isn't important to respond to them every time, but one needs to vent on such ignorance once in a while.

If he recant's. he is dead.

Several other papers have stated that they both recanted.

And the police said that if they did their sentences would be increased......................and told them so.

Increased from life to .....what ?

That alone amounts to mental torture and would in some countries get them off

Are you saying that they did or did not recanted?

That, however, is far from mental torture. Make a deal to get the death penalty off the table. Recant and it goes back to the max punishment

They recanted , though not officially, which should not surprise anyone.

Yes, true that, but if you apply that reasoning then ALL Thai politicians and police involved in this case cannot be trusted, all the way down to those who are covering up this double homicide. You talk like Prayuth, with contradiction.

We want the truth as much as anyone else , but we try to look at this from both sides unlike followers of social media who look for evidence in every tiny bit of rumors and speculations posted on fb or blogs.

I have not said I trust anyone. I am waiting on the trial. I want to see the evidence and not conspiracy theories.

Edit : I actually like Khunying Pornthip. However, the GT200 debacle didn't help her.

Strangely they don't see it.

Thats why there needs to be an independent investigation. By doing this the RTP police could regain its thrust domestic and internationally.

Strangely they don't see it.

Sure the mother has followed the case closely from her hut in the jungle??whistling.gif

"Journalism" at its worst!! "He is such a good boy!!"

The above post smells like the used gym socks you forgot in your locker from last year.

It's two scrawny scapegoats verses the entire concerted might of the RTP, the junta and the island mafia family. Can't you allow a little maternal sympathy for their side?

I am not having a go at the two alleged culprits or the mother, but at the "journalism" creating this nonsense story!

What did you expect the mother to say?? "He started to torture and burn pet-animals alive already as a 5 year old" ??whistling.gif

So you know she lives in a jungle hut .Imagine if you were a police officer , I hate to think what you would do ...

This has got to be one the most racist idiotic posts I have read on TV. Obviously an abused child.

I bet Jim Fix'it for you.
