electronic musical equipment repair in Bangkok

Hi

I've got a piece of equipment that needs some attention. Has anyone got any recommendations for this? Most shops I know of only sell guitars etc so are likely not appropriate. The only ones I know which do sell studio gear are in Pantip. Does anyone know if they do repairs and has anyone used them for this? They're a long way from me so I don't want a wasted trip.

Any other suggestions? I've also got an old hifi amp I want checking out. Any suggestions for this?

For both pieces I'm looking for somewhere that charges reasonable local prices not some high end rip off place.

I'm in outer Sukhumvit area.

Thanks

My recommendation is to throw it away, otherwise the stack of broken shit just grows. The climate and humidity eats electronic equipment. It eats everything. My guitars just dissolve after awhile. That's why I don't buy high end stuff. Unless it's under guarantee and the place you bought it from will help get it serviced, it's hard to find people who know how to work on electronics. Even if you find someone who is knowledgeable, it doesn't mean they have a prayer of fixing something. Getting a replacement part sent to Thailand?

I hope this helps. whistling.gif

I have recently overhauled my traverse flute at Yamaha. For the wind Instruments, there is a lovely elderly man, Preenai Preechaporn, who has done repair all his life. As the instrument did not play anymore, he took it all apart and reassembled it, for little cost, and it is like new again . I was charged 1300 THB for the work of two days.

The building is Siam Motors Building, across the National Stadium, sky train station "National Stadium". You notice the building by the many cars in the showroom on the first floor.

For non-Yamaha Instruments, Preenai has an own shop nearby. Talk to him or give him a call: 081 288 85 24. He speaks English well and loves speaking it. If he cannot do it himself, he might know where you can do it.
