How City manage to beat FFP. There whole group set up is mesmerising, but obviously it’s got nothing to do with a bottomless pit of capital.

I read that the other day and finished reading feeling the writer was speculating without concluding.

Just reread it and he closes out the article "Did Manchester City receive a subsidy of close to $100m from two clubs that generated less than $40m in revenue or is there another more benign explanation?" - speculating without any conclusion.

Probably doesn’t want to be sued.

i don’t think you need to speculate, the article and.financial snapshots give you understanding of how City Group operate, which enables City to spend how they spend.

Maybe our Arsenal supporting ex-accountant will pop by and give us his opinion on "How City manage to beat FFP" as you alledge/speculate based upon the Forbes article. Not being an accountant and not having read anything (yet) which confirms as such I therefore do not concur.

Don't worry about where the money comes from... just enjoy it while it lasts.

Interested to know if City fans think Sterling should be in the starting XI for the WC? Obviously he has been very good under Pep (most of the time), but he has some woeful performances for England. I think only 2 will play from Sterling, Rashford, Ali and Lingard......

So you actually seriously believe that your club, in matter of 8 years is a able to pay the biggest transfer fees and salaries on the P & L account of Man City? The facts are there in the article, it’s not one club it’s a group, you don’t need to be an accountant to understand that.

You and Jamgles are the only 2 City fans I know that don’t accept this.

ManU went a period of 26 years from 66-67 to 92-93 including a relegation before they rose again to win the top tier of English football. . Once dominant Liverpool have now gone 28 years from 89-90 since they won the top tier of English football. Yep enjoying it while it lasts, you never know when you'll be decent again. Also amused every time someone raises City's money ;-)

I'm not a fan of Sterling's he's either very decent or tripping over the ball / missing open goals. I'm also not hugely interested in England at the World Cup though I will watch all the games. Maybe Mr BJ or JD will have an opinion on Sterling for you. I'm not a fan of Alli. I do admire Rashford, and Lingard seems to be becoming a very decent footballer.

More nonsense messing around with fixtures and not caring about fans who have to travel!
So "City are laying on free coach travel for fans left high and dry after their visit to Tottenham was moved for TV coverage. The Blues travel to Wembley to face Mauricio Pochettino’s high-flying Spurs on Saturday, April 14 for a 7.45pm kick-off.The last train departing from Euston to Manchester that night leaves at 9pm, which would be during half-time, meaning fans have to travel by road. And City have decided to provide free return coach travel to all those with a ticket for the game as a thank you to fans ‘for their unwavering support throughout the season.’" Well done City. Shame on those who yet again moved a game time without considering the attending fans!! Recently Dortmund fans boycotted a monday night game, chapeau!

City are favourites to win the Premier. If we don't win both games at Everton (a) and ManU (h) to clinch it then the Spurs game could be the game where we do it, yet "Despite the capacity of the national stadium being around 90,000, City have only been given an allocation of just over 3,000 tickets"...not right!!!

The Scousers are planning a welcome party for us at Anfield. it’s not safe or fair for our players to be subject to this barbarity. Our boys will be put off their game. The FA need to stop this ?

I see the scouser - forget his name - who's been pushing this scouse 'welcome' is now seriously backtracking in case he gets it for inciting the violence which will no doubt take place. Noisy boisterous atmosphere in the ground = ok; violent 'welcome' for our team or our fans inside or outside the ground = not ok.

Problem with Ali is he's a walking red card. But on the other hand he should be good combining with Kane. Can't see 2 United boys in there but at least If Sterling has a shocker in one of the first two games there are replacements waiting...... but what will probably happen is he'll score a hat trick against Panama and cement his place for the tournament :shock1:

There’s never been one arrest at a welcome party, no violence. Just noisy, loud, colourful Redmen.

Load of bolloxious

And just to set poor little Trigg's mind to rest, City's coach doesn't HAVE to pass The King Harry.....and the away supporters coach park is the other side of Stanley Park:passifier:

Bob and willy wonkey haven't had the 'pleasure' of being an away supporter visiting Anfield. Always had horrible experiences in and out the ground (coach windows smashed / coach driver attacked and nose bloodied while stopped at traffic lights / older brother given a good kicking in the passenger seat while the door was held open at traffic lights - our attention was focussed on a Knotty Ash sign on t'other side of road (we didn't know it existed and thought it was like Narnia). Only had a problem once at Goodison - 14yr old me and mate got surrounded and ended up being given an escort to our coach by some decent older Scousers. Despite what you 2 say we all know how it will pan out violence-wise on the day and that's nothing to be proud of in this day and age. Anfield: horrible place to visit.

Says the supporter of a club that is a poorly disguised front for money laundering. Won 5 out of 6 Youth Cups but still spends a fortune on players every transfer window and always has at least 30; yes 30; players out on loan and nobody playing regularly in the 1st team from the youth team.

Keep your fingers crossed that Roman isn't in the UK Government's sights as tit for tat expulsions of Russians continues.

Yours is pretty good too but just as completely inneffective when it comes to bringing youth into the first team. I'll beleive Phil Foden is the real deal when he starts 10 league games on the bounce and is not just brought on occasionally after 85 or more minutes.

We're not so good this year.

semi-finals First leg
Blackpool 2 v 2 Arsenal
Birmingham City v Chelsea

Have a read about the very impressive Blackpool

Yes, I have read about Blackpool. They disbanded their reserve team in 2011, so it is likely that other clubs will cherry pick from this team.

The chaps at FFP have far more access to City's accounts than the numpty who is speculating this and that in the article. FFP have already said they would monitor very closely our associations with the other clubs, even mentioning they would keep an eye on the salaries of our loaned players. Bearing in mind FFP fined us once but reimbursed us because we proved we adhered to the rules, I am content and don't intend to go any further as it has been done to death on here.

BTW. I probably know more City fans than thou and we are ALL extremely happy

As opposed to the alley behind the Kippax...which was always a lovely place to spend a quiet few moments:thumbsup:
