Don't forget that 16 players from our squad will be missing from pre-season (or the majority of pre-season)

Bit early for excuses; but you do have 3 regular starters for Brazil. All Chelsea's 4 Spaniards left at home; they could get off to a flyer.

It is a long while since a club won back to back Premierships; might have been your close neighbours.

I love how on this forum, when you state a fact it's regarded as getting excuses in. ?

It's not only City, several teams will have players coming back late for pre-season training and some of those players may not be 100% for the start of the season. The other clubs should try and take full advantage of that.

Chelsea retained in 2005 and United won in during the next 3 seasons.

We've always been poor in our failure to retain the championship of england going all the way through our history, so although we were brilliant last season i can't help remembering the Mancini and Pellegrini teams failure to retain the championship and worrying will Peps team blunder as well.

So now you're saying its our only chance? ?

Foden posed for what looks like an official shoot of the away kit, which has yet to be revealed officially by the club.

Predominantly dark navy, the Manchester City 2018-19 away shirt features lime green and sky blue pinstripes on the front, a totally new look for the club.

Mark Kennedy...used to be one of my favourite players in that promotion side...will always remember him at the Blackburn promotion game

"City have released youth coach Mark Kennedy as part of an academy restructuring. The former City winger, who was part of the team to win promotion to the Premier League in 2000, has not had his two-year contract renewed as manager of the Under 15 side.

Kennedy is likely to be replaced by an internal coach, while City have moved to snap up the son of ex-England caretaker Howard Wilkinson.Ben Wilkinson, 31, is joining from Sheffield Wednesday and arriving as assistant manager to new Under 23 boss Paul Harsley.

Harsley left Barnsley to take the Under 23 job after Simon Davies stepped aside to become head of coaching.

Wilkinson was youth development phase coach at Wednesday, having played for York, Tamworth and Boston United before calling time on his playing career in 2011.

It's understood that City have also appointed two coaches from Derby County and Reading as part of a summer rejig. Both will coach younger age groups at the City Football Academy. "

" Manchester city have suffered another setback in their youth ranks with another star of the future forcing a move to the mighty liverpool. Bobby Duncan, relative of lfc legend; Steven Gerrard was forced to stop playing for a whole year as a result of city's feeble attempts to keep him. The starlet showed the same grit and determination as his cousin and waited city out. The England youth international was still included in international matches whilst he was unable to play domestically. Reminiscent of Jadon sancho's departure and more evidence the youth players at city are not given the chance to breakthrough with their parent club."

This happening was mentioned on City websites throughout last season.

Telegraph
"The 17-year-old has been training away from City for the last few months after stalling on a professional contract at The Etihad and making it known he felt his future was elsewhere.

He stated on social media earlier this week he was ending an association with the Manchester club that started when he was 11-years-old.

“It’s been an amazing six years at Manchester City,” he wrote.

“It was a difficult decision for me and my family but the time is right for a new challenge and fulfil my dreams and potential elsewhere.”

The Arabs were basically holding a young boy hostage.

They can't understand the mentality that puts the honour of playing for a big club above money.

Thats a bit strong!!  We all like a bit of hyperbole but hostage taking!!

However, your second paragraph i believe is sadly spot on.

To be fair it wouldn't be the first time Arabs have held someone hostage !

Why would that matter. Just pretend he did and there'd be about the same amount of truth in it as the rest of the tripe you Spurs fans post in here ?

:w00t: Great it will be Xmas on here soon then!
