Cheapest Onward Travel Proof for 2 Entry Tourist Visa

I'm going to be applying for 2 entry visa in Manila. They want to see tickets for both trips. I live in the Philippines (still a tourist though) but don't want to commit exactly to dates of return and my second trip. I'd use the 24 hour refund trick with Expedia but the visa takes 3 days to process so depending on when/if they check they might see it's been cancelled.

I understand that proof of onward travel won't be required by the airline (and they dont accept ground tickets) if I get a visa but to get the visa I need prove it. I'm assuming the Thai embassy however will accept ground tickets out of the country as proof?

That being said. What are the absolute cheapest tickets I can purchase out of the country (while I'm still here in Thailand and can book them in person) ?

Please help! :)

Huh? Since when did they require proof of onward travel for tourist visa's? At least, they haven't checked mine.

They do in the Manila office they are strict there. You need to show onward for both dates if you want a double entry.

Ouch, that's rough... I'll keep that in mind in case I'm ever heading over there...

Try Phuket to KL flight. AirAsia has some bargains but there are others even better. AA has a long list of "gotcha" on their ticketing so be careful which one you get. Hard to get refundable but can get credit for another flight.

the official rules state that a land-ticket is/should be also valid, but it differs as per embassy if they accept it. Most embassies follow the rules for the locals, so MNL-out of luck for you.

Besides that, its IMpossible to get such a train/busticket to you-delivery will cost you more, even if it would be available, nothing is online+print.

ANY airticket out has the (still for now) 700 BT airporttax included, AirAsia will-in the end, after many monthes, refund 600 of this, but nothing of ticket cost. Mostly BKk-PnPOn or as above: HKT-KUL are chepaest, but there might be special offers.

You did not state nationality- but it might be wiser to fly into PnPn or KUL (check Cebu Pacific) and either fly in+out IF you qualify for the 30 days and forget that visa alltogether. You can now easily extend the 30 days with another 30 days at any IMMI-office.

The very cheapest tickets do not exist as such-=you just pay cash to busconductor into MY.

As I said previously you could book full fare on any one of the major airlines or you could also ask a local travel agent to print you a dummy itinerary for each trip. Basically it looks like an e-ticket just isn't booked.

Since this year. I was asked for it a few days ago (a year ago it was not needed).

As I keep saying almost ALL AIRLINES FLYING OUT OF BKK even on FIRST CLASS FULLY REFUNDABLE TICKETS......STILL CHARGE AN ADMIN FEE OF 2000 to 10000 BAHT for the refund. I don't know why no one understands this when I said it before.

I've found only ONE single flight that I truly confirm can be refunded with no penalty at all and this is Air France to CDG. It's about $1500 US and I'll need two of the tickets for two exits. So I will have 3K at the mercy of a refund but I got the credit and the time and I want to see how it goes.

Yes, I could cancel in 24 hours for a quick refund from Expedia perhaps but the visa takes 2-3 days to process. If I was going to do that I might as well just forge one of my old tickets. I don't want to get caught with tickets that were already cancelled as going down to manila from where I live is already going to be a bit of an ordeal. I want to be as legit as possible and then cancel the tickets.

If you can find me a fully refundable ticket with no penalties for refunding that's cheaper than that I'll gladly tell you how wrong I was but trust me. I didn't even make this post until after I found out I couldn't find truly refundable tickets from BKK anywhere. Look for yourself if you don't believe me, you will be surprised.

Sorry for the rant smile.png. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

BKK-KL one way . . .about 1300b AirAsia . . . works for my 2x TR visa application

It's an option but I refuse to throw-away the ticket I want to pay nothing. I already have to buy real flights out of the country eventually just not sure the dates yet.

In your experience do they want to see the tickets for the ENTRYs? Or do they only want to see the exit tickets? Also I understand MNL might be more strict.

I'm American and I'm still in BKK right now having extended for 30 days a few weeks ago. The process was ok but it's more expensive a a waste of half a day and I'd just rather have a real visa and the option to extend to 90 days if I fall in love or something stupid like that haha. This is going to be a regular thing for me 60-90 days TH and 60 days PH so TV is probably best.

BTW, I'm still in BKK so if I could buy the ground ticket here but I don't think they sell them that far in to the future and I think I'm set on the refundable Air France tickets unless a cheaper flight comes up.

Out of interest. Has anyone ever had their tickets verified (contact with the airline, etc.) by embassy / immigration when e-ticket printouts are being used as evidence of proof of outward travel?

In the age of e-tickets and computers there will no doubt be some occasions where unscrupulous individuals, certainly not me, have provided a suitably adjusted e-ticket as evidence of an onward booking. Though I can't believe that anyone on TV would do such a thing.

Haha. Many have said they have done it. Not sure if any one has gotten caught but given the reputation of MNL and the fact that it's already a bit of a hassle to be in Manila (I live north of Manila) I just don't want to risk it or do anything that will delay it. It would be very easy to verify said bookings online without calling any one.
