Help repatriating to the UK

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Hopefully someone out there can help me with this, or at least point me in the right direction-

In brief, We have been married for 4 years. We have 2 childeren, 1yr and 3yrs old (both hold British passports). We have lived in Asean, but outside of Thailand for the last 6 years.

Its come time to move back to the UK, my wife currently has a 5 year multi entry visa for the UK in her Thai passport. (prior to this she had a 1 year visa)

I was wondering what the procedure for her is during our move to the UK? and does anyone have any advice and/or experience with this? She (I assume) will need some kind of PR but I'm not sure where, when, or how to start this procedure?

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Thanks and best regards- Jim

From what you have described, your wife will require a Settlement Visa to locate to the UK, a visit visa is just that, a visa that allows her to visit the UK for up to six months in any twelve.

The procedure is not complicated though it's not cheap and it does take some time.

I'll move your thread to a more appropriate forum where there are numerous threads from people who have been through this, in the meantime you might find this pinned topic helpful. UK Settlement Visa Basics
