webfact Posted October 26, 2014 Share Posted October 26, 2014 Illegal East Pattaya Money Lending Gang arrested by Army and PolicePATTAYA: -- In a joint operation involving the Army and Nongprue Police, three members of an illegal money lending gang were arrested and assets were seized from an East Pattaya house on Sunday Night.Police obtained a search warrant and made their way to the house with the Army. It was known that firearms were kept at the location so extreme caution was taken.Inside the house were three people suspected of running the operation. Police arrested Khun Pongsak aged 36, Khun Anurat aged 34 and Khun Juglaet aged 24 and seized 100,000 Baht in cash, 6 firearms including 3 rifles, 300 bullets, 1 Pick-up truck and 5 motorbikes. ezzra Posted October 27, 2014 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Arresting one gang is akin to killing one cockroach, one down and many more out there, this is a tool lucrative business to in to give it up and the rewards are most definitely worth the risks, the Thai black economy is fueled by money landings, billions of baht are in circulation, without that people might resorts to crimes to obtain cash for daily life and no government want that to happened.... Thailand seriously needs to step it's game up, and actually bust the leaders of these rings. Regardless of who they are and how much money they have. Sorry calling it as anyone with foresight would find hard not to see it as a positive PR opportunity on the side. Which is exactly what happened in this case if you bother to read the report properly. Haha Oh yeah, I'm sure the main boss would hang out with his malcontents. These are classic small fish. these are the foot soldiers. All this is is an inconvenience to the guy or guys who actually make profit from this. Probably the interest made on loans to 100 school children. Its not the money lending itself, it is the extortion that is asserted with the interest.
