Boy drowns in East Pattaya Reservoir



PATTAYA: -- On Thursday afternoon a 17 year old boy drowned in a reservoir located in the Huay Yai area.

Police and medics were called to the Chark Nok Reservoir just before 5.30pm but it was too late to save the boy known only as “Noo”.

Initially the boy was dragged from the water by Khun Nontagan aged 19 who had gone to the area with friends when he was stopped by a friend of the victim who asked for assistance in finding the boy who had been submerged in the water for more than 30 minutes.

Friends of the victim revealed how he had gone to the reservoir as part of a group of 6 friends. However, the victim was the only one who went for a swim. As he reached the center of the reservoir, he was seen to go under the water and was not seen alive again.
