Hey All,

Just bought some wind deflectors and had them fitted for 1600 bhat on a suzuki swift, my mates asking if I can send him over a two sets in the UK as he has a swift and a focus, just wondering if you guys have bought these and what you paid? my wife reckons I was ripped off but I thought it was quite reasonable to be honest.

Thnx

It depends on the brand and style of the wind deflectors.

If for instance the brand was RBS or TFP then you will pay more because of the better quality.

If you are buying a cheaper brand (or a no brand version) then you will pay a lot less.

If you do have the cheaper brand be aware that one of the item they will save money on is the double sided foam tape.

This could result in the wind deflectors coming of when you are traveling at speed.

I had this happen to me on the Bangna Trad expressway traveling at 160 KPH and I was very lucky that there was not another car directly behind me.

I saw them fitting them and they used a heated gun, so not too sure if they are likely to come off or not but I will keep an eye on them

Thanks

Ryan, at the end of this month the International Motor Expo will take place at the Impact Arena.

It runs from 29th November through 10th December and is a great place to pick up these kind of accessories.

If you go to this event, don't buy from the first stall, shop around.

Also do not go on the first/last day, weekends or public holidays, as the place gets crowded and the traffic jams up.

Their website is http://www.motorexpo.co.th/2014/

Perhaps I'll get a spare set there

Many cars and pickup have this but I seldom see anyone with the window down because the dust and the sun so what is the point having this? . Is it wind noise or something else just wondering.

They help reduce the Suns glare m8. But really it's about blending in with the Thais so anything you can stick on your car or pick up that's either shiny or has the cars name on it is fine :-) bit like England in the 80s.

I see people with the window down all the time to avoid getting the car full of cigarette smoke.

The OP should get his mate to shop for them on eBay.co.uk

They are all made in Thailand and ship international. He gets what he pays for and the OP avoids any 'you bought me crap' accusations.

They use a heat gun to warm the glue up so its more sticky, so sounds like they've done a decent job.

Take care

It has nothing to do with the heat gun whether they come of or not, it is about whether the double sided tape is a cheap local made brand or a high quality brand such as 3m.

The heat gun may help with the initial adhesion but while the car is parked outside the temperatures that the double sided tape will have to endure for long periods of time will be greater than the heat from the heat gun.
