Prayut

Most community leaders want Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to serve as the country's PM for as long as it takes to resolve the country's problems, according to a survey released yesterday by Master Poll.

Of 626 community leaders surveyed, 63.6 per cent want Prayut to continue in his post till the problems facing the country are solved.

Another 7.7 per cent said they would give him time to work one more year, 14.9 per cent would like him to continue working for two years, 5.8 per cent wanted him to work for another three years, and 8 per cent said he should continue working for four years.

Assoc Prof Chet Ratchadapannathikul, chairman of the Thai Researchers in Community Happiness Association, said the survey showed the Prayut government and the National Council for Peace and Order receiving a job approval rating of 8.5 out of 10.

The government work that received the highest score was promoting His Majesty the King's sufficiency principle, with a score of 8.68, followed by the state subsidy to rubber farmers - at Bt1,000 per rai with a maximum of 15 rai - with a score of 8.39.

The high score for the subsidy for rubber farmers came despite reports that leaders of rubber farmers had expressed disappointment, and had attacked the scheme as only a short-term remedy. They have called on the government to provide sustainable solutions to plummeting rubber prices, for instance, by establishing an industry to buy rubber instead of solely relying on exports.

Other projects mentioned in the survey that received relatively high scores were the debt moratorium for poor farmers; supporting poor people with vision disability; establishing industrial and agricultural zones; the achievements of the PM by attending the Asia-Europe Meeting Summit in Italy and that he was able to get the world community to understand the situation in Thailand.

Others were developing rail lines between cities, developing highways to link production bases with other countries, developing land transport networks to reduce traffic congestion and projects to increase air transport potential and to boost water transport networks. The survey was conducted from October 25-31.

Well with nearly 94% of approval I'm surprised he hasn't walked on water yet!

Surprisingly no opposition .

He must be doing right thing.

A lot of announcements but not sure what the junta has actually done.

Oh getting the street vendors of the streets and tearing down poor peoples homes on in or near forest boundaries.

Yep I can see why they are so popular.

They have given gainful employment to a lot of old military men coming up to retirement, and ensured families and friends are catered for.

Can't argue with these polls. Well you can, but it may be wrongly construed.

Please pray tell me who was appointed on the PTP cabinet---by who ??? what credentials did they have ??? water management ?? education tablets Rice committee?? transport/highways scams??? who was catered for in Thaksins government---FAMILY for starters.

Old military men will have more gorm than Chalerm/Yingluck/Jutaporn/ etc. These people were complete nutters in comparison. A drunk----an out of touch shopper/ and a red army mobiliser-fanatic..................think before you post please.

I could agree a little with your post re/old retired, but you do not have any reason to doubt their abilities, we have proof of the Shin family/friends abilities at the helm.

Yes, the country is really doing well with the old men at helm.

I would give him a maximum of one year. If by Nov 1 2015, he has not made some serious inroads into reforming the RTP (disbanding, and starting over from scratch, would probably be better) and tackling the corruption of the last government (that means arrests and prosecutions, preferably followed by a few Chinese style executions), then I would toss him out on his ear.

So far the prospects of him doing anything substantial seem very dim indeed.

Agree totally, apart from your last sentence--one minute you want to give him benefit of the doubt, and now you say the prospects are DIM. why not wait the full year I'm with you on that one.

Well I wish you good luck with that one, hope you have got more, bigger guns than he has because he won't be holding an election any time soon.

I still have you on ignore, ginjag, but in the past couple of months I've been drawn to reading your increasingly fervent posts in support of the PM (and all the baggage that goes with that). It's like car crash TV, you think it's bad, and then it gets worse, but you just can't drag yourself away from the scene........................coffee1.gif

GOOD keep me on ignore, my to the point criticism on the previous government is hard for you to swallow.

I am going along with the PM as he is the only one who can try to sort out the problems..

You and your elk will never do Thailand a favour with you stance.

If the PM cannot iron out the problems in the year or so then he deserves to be out the door.

Please do not drag me down to your doom and gloom so keep me on your ignore list please. Please do not read and reply--simple, do not be weak and get drawn into my Quote "baggage" posts.cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif
