30+ Land Lease Ever Been Tested ?

Featured Replies

Hi

Has the renwal cluase in a 30year lease ever been tested (or contested).

Does anyone know anyone who has succesfully renewed/extended a 30 year lease ?

I know a few people who have been around 20 or so years but non has a story good or bad to tell on this subject.

Thanks

The leasing of land for 30 years with registration of it at Land Office has not yet been around for 30 years if I got it correct!

Please bear in mind that any agreement of for example another 30 years is never registered at the Land Office – it is just another agreement in between two parts. This is why leasing in no way can be considered a very good alternative for most farangs. It can not be "tested or contested" simular to a law can be done.

Thanks for the reply

So as these leases come to full term in the next 10 years or so we could be in for another round of title queries as the children of the possibly then deceased parents try to regain the old family lands ( to resell again no doubt)
