Hi,

I just want to be blunt and straight to the point. My bud and I are meeting up shortly in Bangkok, he's from India and I'm from Canada.

We've both been here quite a few times and he wants to party, however, I'm not so keen on the beer bars, fish bowls or the go-go scene. He's willing to bypass his regular routine and check out other establishments but I'm a little out of touch with the scene as a whole, as I'm sure Beergarden Soi 7 & Thermae types of places are fine but it would be nice for some of you guys that are currently venturing in these places to recommend some of the hot and/or newer places to have a good time. When I say good time, it means: Meet people, have drinks, observe etc..

It does not matter if it's a western or local area/bar but I'm thinking it would cover some traditional bars/pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurant types or any place that would be deemed as a nice place to mingle/meet women..

Even that my friend is Indian, and as sadly as I know how they're treated by some and heard some of his tales, it's still not a deterrent.

Please, if you think I need a lecture on morality then maybe this is not your thread. By posting here, I'm sure they'll be a suggestion or 2 that would peak others interest to liven up their regular outings.
