I'd like to share an opening at my language center near HALONG and CAM PHA in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam. We had love to hire a NES as well, but something tells me they will want more than the slightly > $ 700 with a free room provided at the school.

The owners speak very little English, I was asked to try and recruit someone without remuneration or any financial benefit or reward if I succeed.

Air Asia is flying from DMK to HAN. Then there will be a 100,000 VND ($ 5) taxi ride to the bus to CAM PHA some 2-3 km from the airport. The bus ride will be about 4-5 hours and the bus will call us when you are getting near and stop right at the school.

There isn't much going on so unless you want to drive some 25 minutes to HALONG BAY, you might as well forget "night life". But there are places to go for a beer or sing Karaoke and a fantastic hot spring pool 2 km away where $ 0.50 is well spent.

There is wifi and they will help you open a bank account. My colleague from the Philippines sends money home via Western Union through some trusted agent - not sure how that works, but there have been no complaints. Just sharing that you cannot just send a bank transfer without a ton of paperwork.

There is a market some 2 km away and small shops within walking distance. at the BIG C in Halong, prices are definitely higher. Bring lots of chocolate if you like it. And used books, also for re-sale. I have been unsuccessful buying DICK FRANCIS novels...

Management? Let's say that it's not that great. The owner was a soldier and he bought the language school. Speaking no English! Kids are kids, but they do work harder over here and the standard is clearly higher regarding grammar.

If you are a fully certified teacher, you can make more and teach at a local school as well.

P.S.: I'm just an Indian and not the chief. A friend of mine is a very good teacher from Nigeria. But to avoid wasting your time, I really doubt you would get the job irrespective of your qualifications if you are from an African country. They were specific about wanting someone from "Asia".
