When i pointed out the price on the box, one pharmacist told me the higher price charged has to do with scripts and licensing, BS or not?

No that is B/S. I have had them tell me its no longer available.

The pharmacy's can not make as much money from the local made product, so they prefer to sell the copies that come in from India and China.

This is the reason the Government started to make Sidegra to try & stop the copies from coming in also the reason for the low price. Even Old Sailor knows the correct price now.cheesy.gif

I actually found the "recommended" price when i researched the product right from the beginning, but not being so 'thrifty' as yourself, i chose to pay the asked price rather than use an alternative. By the way, what are you paying all those ladies who 'admire' you so much! cheesy.gifrolleyes.gifwhistling.gif

Any place in pattaya can you get this for the stated 45 baht per pill on the package?

Where please in pattaya?

You MIGHT be able to buy it for about 250 but you'll have to shop around.

DO NOTE ONE PLACE TRIED TO SELL ME 50 MG PILLS NOT 100!

The farmacy opposite Nikom Court on soi Diana thumbsup.gif

Thanks for that.

I got some today. 4*100.

No problems paying 200 Baht considering how handy they can be, especially with a horny woman at your heels :-)

For those of us penny pinchers, the real trick is to get the stuff in Cambodia. Roughly 45 baht for a box of 4 X 100mg.

Yes but please be very careful,as most of this stuff are cheap copies from India & China. I lived in Cambodia for 5 years.

Another possibility, although a bit of a pain: Go to any clinic or hospital. Get a prescription for however many Sidagra you want from a doctor. Take it to Boots pharmacy. Pay the correct price set by the GPO and you are also completely legal.

Lots of counterfeits in Camb.

Lol.... No one counterfeits "Zeagra"..... It is made in Cambodia. It is the Cambodian equivalent of" Sideagra" in Thailand.

There is an extremely low risk of ever buying a counterfeit generic drug. It's like a counterfeit 1 dollar bill......there just are not many around.

The issue with a "prescription" always comes up when discussing Viagra. I have yet to see anyone post hard evidence that a prescription is needed (to stay legal) for this drug in Thailand. If anyone has the info, I would like to see it. Because I even spoke to a urologist that said no prescription is needed for this drug. Edited by inbangkok

That's interesting. You believe Viagra from Pfizer and Sidagra from the Thai GPO are legally sold over the counter?

That's what I believe.... Unless someone can show me, not tell me otherwise.

The vast majority of medications in Thailand do not legally require a prescription to possess. And I am under the impression that Sidenafil is one of them....

Why would you need a prescription for this when you don't for NSAIDs, muscle relaxers, antibiotics, etc.?

There is no mystery and no reason for rumors or demands for "hard evidence" about whether this or any other drug in Thailand requires a prescription. All medication approved for use in Thailand are given a Thai FDA category. This category can be found online in Mims https://www.mims.com/thailand (though you have to register to use it) or in the hard copy of Mims that any pharmacy . You will also find in Mims the explanation of each of the FDA drug categories.

Some pharmacies in tourist areas have Sidegra behind the counter with a sign prominently displayed saying "Prescription Only" -- I have seen this in Boots on Silom, for example. Whether or not they adhere to this rule, there is no question that it is the rule and violators can face legal consequences.

In the Nana area there have been first hand reports of farangs being shaken down by police for having viagra/Sidegra/Cialis on them without evidence of prescription. (Police who are conveniently lurking near pharmacies that sell these without a script...and needless to say no hassle given to the seller, just the buyer).

I just looked and it is category S (licensed pharmacist and prescription only). So you are correct.

I just checked Arcoxia, as well as a few others I have purchased regularly from many different pharmacies including Boots and Watsons....all category S as well. So even the big chain pharmacies from overseas are not requiring prescriptions.

Like I said, I have had Dr's instruct me to simply buy these things at pharmacies.

Guess I am not surprised though that something in Thailand is technically illegal, yet no enforcement of it seems to exist.

If enforcement did not exist, it would be a non-issue.

Problem is that it is enforced -- erratically and selectively.

So one has to be careful, or at least know one is taking a calculated risk, if breaking the law in this regard. (And refrain from encouraging others to do so on TV, please).

I am not trying to encourage anyone.... I honestly had no clue that one legally needed a prescription for something like Arxocia (or sidenafil for that manner).

So how does this situation work then? My Dr's tell me to go buy Arxocia or Viagra and I get stopped by the police. They are not in boxes with prescription hospital labels. What do I do? Have them call the hospital to confirm it was prescribed by a Dr? Or directed by a Dr to purchase it?

It can be dangerous for the heart : some times I get 50 grs, sometimes 100 grs ( I don't see difference ), but when I have 100 grs, I feel that my heart is beating much faster than normal

prescription from doctor or not, illegal ? pharmacy don't care, there is a pharmacy in Hua hin which makes a promotion : you buy 5 boxes, they give you the sixth, ( but they sell one box more expensive than the fixed price )

Every medication has a potentially dangerous side effect.

Paracetamol is far more dangerous. More people end up the the hospital each year due to liver toxicity from Paracetamol than pretty much any other drug on the market.

This is what I don't understand.... Walk into 7-11 and buy 1000 Tylenol tabs.... No problem! Want Viagra? Need a prescription.

Of course, I meant 50 and 100 mg, not gr ! it's not young people ( let's say after 60 years old ) who need sidegra , and people with a bad health and a weak heart really must be careful with viagra-sidegra

They say, after 65 years old, take 25 mg

Viagra's potential side effects at normal dosage are considerably more serious/common than those of paracetemol. In addition the population segment likely to use it (older men) are in general a higher risk group more likely to have other underlying health problems.

One of the problems is that it can exacerbate some heart conditions and is contraindicated in people taking certain types of cardiovascular medication... and many of the men with ED have cardiovascular disease.

The stuff is not candy. It can be dangerous in people with certain pre-existing health problems and people on certain medications. People have died from it (something like 500 known deaths just in the first year it was available). The intent of requiring a script is to have a doctor review the patient's medical history and medications first to ensure it is safe for them to use it.

I have spoken to several GP Dr.s and a few Urologists and they all say this stuff is safe in the normal amounts for healthy people. Obviously people here and there are going to have adverse side effects from it. But in general, I am convinced it is safe in the prescribed dose for healthy people.

It's the "healthy people" part that is the problem. These drugs tend to be used by older men whose ED is often the direct results of chronic diseases and who are on regular medication for same. That's the concern.

Of course, someone in perfect health, with no underlying cardiovascular or other problems, on no regular medication, and not using any "recreational" drugs (interaction with which can also be an issue) will have no problems. But this is not the usual profile of men with erectile dysfunction.

It is a prescription only drug in most countries for this reason.

I haven't heard of anyone having any difficulty getting a script for this BTW.

an older over weight guy told me it gave him heart palpitations prior to any physical activity, is that a listed side effect?

i thought it was in his head

the worst effect i ever have was feeling flushed, but that seems to have subsided over time

kamagra gel gave me many a headache the next day

drink lots of water i've been told with that stuff

is this possible to get in pharmacies in Bangkok?

or will I get the standard 'go to hospital" brush off?

Are you being serious? blink.png This entire thread is about how readily available the stuff is in pretty much every pharmacy in BKK.

You pay too much, the official price is 180THB for a pack of 4

Official price some time ago maybe ! But if one has to 'quibble' over a measly Bht 210, then its time to give up as you obviously w00t.gif cannot afford to be here. whistling.gif

Some people don't like to pay double, others because they usually can't speak more than krup khun just smile and pay,

Don't sweat it he got shafted on his Palm Oil planation too.

What's this the old pharts can't geta hardon, thread.

What age did you all start needing this sort of thing?

I am sure there are risks to ones health taking these sort of things......perhaps a bit of exercise and the erections will come automatically. ;)

A little off topic, but I once asked a young (late 20's) friend of mine who's quite the "party animal" why he wanted to buy some Viagra/Sidegra while he was in Thailand. Apparently some of the "feel good" drugs, like Ecstacy, adversely affect the ability to obtain/maintain an erection. Hence, young partiers find Viagra/Sidegra to be useful.
