If you have OA visa issued by an embassy or consulate you can do it as early as you want.

But every day before the date your visa expires (enter before date on sticker) is a day lost that you can stay here without getting an extension or a new visa.

Anytime before the visa expires, but remember you need to cross back INTO Thailand before the expiry date. Best to allow a few days to spare in case of transport delays or New Year's celebrations caused delays at the border.

Make sure you are looking at the expiry or "use by" date printed on the visa sticker you got at the embassy and NOT the permission to stay hand stamp you got from immigrations when you entered the country the last time.

And once the visa has expired if you want to travel in and out of Thailand you'll need a re-entry permit or you will lose the permission to stay you get from this last use of the visa.

I have to do a Border Run to do this, how early can I do this?

Depends on what time you wake up.

Sorry..... looks like it's gunna be one of those days.

Cheers..... Mal.

Basically all said.

Just consider that starting from about Dec 26 traffic will increase steadily for the long new year holidays.

I would better waste a few days than getting any close to New Years Eve.
