So now 60 day ED extensions?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if this is true?

I did my extension last week and was given 90 days (well more actually because I went before the last day). I'm genuinely studying at a language school and not doing badly.

The immigration officer at desk 1 said 'ok you write your name down in Thai' and asked me to write another random couple of words he spoke before telling me that I need to speak to his boss at desk 3 later. He said 'if you speak Thai 'geng' then 90 days, if not then 60 days.

I got 90 days in the end.

I have a friend that goes to another language school (a crap one too) and they were being told by both immigration and those school that extensions are only for 60 days and not the usual 90 days.

Anyone know what's happening? I go to one of the famous schools in Bangkok based in Asok by the way.

The rules say 90 day maximum. If immigration determines that a person does not qualify for the 90 days they can make it any length they want.

The 60 days thus far has only been happening in Bangkok.

There is already this multiple page ongoing topic about the 60 days. 60 not 90 days for ED extensions

No need for another one.
