Free delivery service to officials in the south

BANGKOK, 30 December 2014 (NNT) – Thailand Post now offers free postal delivery services to police officers and soldiers in the southern-border provinces of Thailand to express encouragement during the New Year’s holidays.


The Vice President of Corporate and Marketing Communication Department of Thailand Post Co.Ltd Parisa Pananond has revealed that the company is now offering postal delivery services to 16 areas in 3 southern-border provinces free of charge, allowing the public to express their encouragement to the officials working in the area.

She said that this service is a cooperation between Thailand Post, the Director of Civil Affairs, and the Southern Border Provinces Peace Building Command.

The public can send in items that are essential for living, such as dry foods, T-Shirts, or other items to the officials as the New Year’s present.

These items can be sent as packages at the Thailand Post offices nationwide, except for the privately owned offices. Packages have a maximum weight of 5 kilogram per 1 package. For more information, please call the 1545 hotline or visit www.thailandpost.co.th, said the Thailand Post Marketing Vice President.

PHUKET: -- Well known Thai movie director Anon “Poj Anon” Mingkhwan was arrested at Suvarnabhumi airport yesterday (December 29) on a warrant issued in Phuket.

AirAsia jets in fresh incidents in Thailand and Philippines

BANGKOK: -- An AirAsia flight bound for northeast Thailand turned back to the capital Bangkok shortly after takeoff Tuesday when pilots detected an "irregularity" in the storage compartment, airline officials said.
