Letter To Australian Embassy About Fiancee Visa

Featured Replies

Hi all

it has come to the time to send the "Email" to the embassy about the progress of our Fiancee visa application.

I know its only been 17 weeks and thats within the normal processing time, but it would be great to get a result before we fly to the Uk at the end of the month.

this is the email so far

Robert Chambers

Second Secretary (Immigration)

Australian Embassy Bangkok

Dear Mr. Chambers,

I am writing to you in regards to my fiancee’s Prospective Marriage Visa Application. Reference **********, in the name of ********.

I am writing this letter with the understanding that the Australian Embassy in Bangkok would approve more than 1,000 visa applications in the spouse and fiancee category every year and I am not complaining about the time we have been waiting, I would just like to inform you of our situation with regard to travel plans at the end of this month, My fiancee and I will be going to England for 6 weeks from 29th Aug until 9th Oct, this is the only time before our planed marriage in Australia that all of my family members that still live in the U.K. will be together and therefor the last chance for my fiancee to meet them before we marry.

If the decision is close to being made it would be a great advantage if we could find out before we leave Thailand on the 29th Aug as then we could fly straight back to Perth from England and I would not have to drop ******** of in Bangkok on our way home.

I also understand that if it is not approved by the time we leave we will need to inform the case officer that ********* will be out of the country for 6 weeks and this would put our application on hold.

Our application was lodged on the 21st of April 2006, the same day ******** had her interview at the Embassy with her Case Officer Khun P******. Our application is now in the 17th week and I realise that this is well within the normal waiting period I just ask if there is any assistance you can give us to get the decision before we leave it would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Simon R

What do you think guys I plan to send it tomorrow

to these email addy's

[email protected]

[email protected]

[email protected]

[email protected]

and CC to the case officer

I think it's a fair request and you did state in your proposed email that you are well aware of the embassys work load. That indicates that you're not trying to queue jump.

You are abiding by embassy guidelines and advising them of your changed circumstances.

I do strongly suggest however, that you run your proposed email through a word processor to correct the spelling and grammatical errors.

Good luck. :o

Let us know how you get on. As i have mentioned before we went for the interview a week after you with the same officer and we are also still waiting. We cant even book flights yet until the visa is approved. Good luck!

If you are in Perth now, telephone your local Immigration Office and ascertain whether Rob and Gemma are still working from Bangkok, and if so, confirm the email addy.

If they are not, ascertain who is now in charge, get their email addy and re-submit your email.

If you are in Thailand now, it may be difficult to get a phone call through to the embassy, but you should try.

You may now begin to understand why I made the suggestion to you in your previous thread not to leave this to the last minute.

Thanks MM

I am in Perth and will call local Immigration Office tomorrow.

I did email 1 week earlier than I had planed because of your advice, I just wanted to leave it as late as possible on the off chance they called us first.

Thanks agian for all your help

Have you emailed your case officer?

My fiancee couldn't find her email addy

Do you have it?

I just called Perth Immigration Office and they could not tell me if Rob Chambers was still in Bangkok.

But they did say that as long as my fiancee was not in Australia the application could continue and be issued in any embassy overseas. So If its not ready by the time we go to the U.K. they could in theory give us a call there and we could get the visa from Aussie embassy in London.

But I still hope we get it before we leave.

I just resent the email to

[email protected]

which is the main email addy

I just rang the Sydney Immigration office and the girl on the switchboard looked into her departmental computer and confirmed that Rob Chambers is still in Bangkok. His email addy is the same.

Gemma Jackson is not currently there, according to the girl I spoke with.

Try sending the email again direct to only Rob, no copies to other people.

Gemma Jackson is a ghost, am still waiting for her to return a call and email for 2 years

I guess Sydney have more up to date info than Perth(not suprised).

I've just started the journey, there is allways a nagging doubt I have forgotten something, is that the way you felt?

Best of luck to you, I'm sure all is ok.

Martin

The main email addy is: [email protected] but you'll be lucky to get a reply from there.

If you are just starting on the exciting (and sometimes frustrating) visa application journey, you shouldn't need to email the embassy at this stage.
