crickets Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I was drinking at a expats house who was in his 60s with my wife and his. He is a bit of a mentor. I am in my mid 30s. Anyway he was quiet drunk and was complaining about thai women and said very loudly and angrily "no thai women tells me what to do!" His wife laughed and mine looked scared and wanted to go home. I thought about it later and it doesnt bother me if i generaly have to do what my wife says. Does it bother you or does no thai women tell u what to do?
Popular Post robblok Posted January 6, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 6, 2015 Seriously ? you let your woman tell you what to do 4
Popular Post beachproperty Posted January 6, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 6, 2015 There's a saying that "behind every great man there is a great women".... I having always taken that to mean that the man may bluster and talk big but quietly on the side he listens to his wife.... Happy wife ...Happy life 11
Popular Post Thai at Heart Posted January 6, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 6, 2015 Get a better mentor, if I were you. 6
crickets Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 I am happy doing things she asked me too to an extent. Most of the time just to shut her up i suppose.
Popular Post chrisinth Posted January 6, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 6, 2015 I say that to mine all the time, "Don't tell me what to do". This is generally in a well lit environment with enough witnesses to ensure that at least one will remain un-compromised......................... The pain comes later.................. Seriously though, if my missus has something to say, i will listen. Same applies if i have to criticize her. It is after all a partnership. 4
otherstuff1957 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 "no Thai woman...". Did he leave the UK when Maggie Thatcher was telling everyone what to do? Or is it just Thai women who can't tell him what to do? 1
Bangkok112 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Get a better mentor, if I were you. +1 Also, if you have any illusions about Thai women in general, the depth of stubbornness they will go to is quite remarkable.
Spaniel Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Your friend sounds like the typical obnoxious expat. I'd find another "mentor" and avoid this one. (Thai) wife and I have been married over 25 years and I'd say we are equal partners. 1
Yooyung Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 My wife tells me what to do all the time. She also tells me where to go...and I tell her where to go as well......We have a feisty relationship, just the way I like it. She is a head strong woman and I am a head strong man...this leads to conflict. Luckily when we do fight its usually with a lot of sarcasm and hilarity.....she tries to beat me up sometimes, its a lot of fun! I have become well adept at protecting the family jewels during our stoushes.
AnotherOneAmerican Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I rarely listen to anything my gf says. If she keeps talking at me, I put my headphones on and listen to music or I go out. 1
Costas2008 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 OP, you are 35 and the man is 60. When you come to his age you will be doing the same. Boasting and showing much bravado about other people and also telling everybody how good you are at sex. All this is poppycocks and nothing is real. Just an attempt to feed your ego and mourn for whatever you lost during the years. Listen to me.......I'm 67.........

kingalfred Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Thai women dont like being " told what to do" so if its that sort if relationship its the same for the man.

Loptr Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Funny how true feelings come out when someone is on the sauce... I bet he toes the line when sober, which is why his wifed laughed... Full of wind and bluster, until the rubber meets the road... 1
robblok Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Nobody sees the difference between listening too and being told what to do ? Telling me what to do.. no way. Listening.. sure I can't know everything. 1
MrTee Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Depends entirely on what she tells me to do, and what mood I am in ..
neverdie Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Nobody sees the difference between listening too and being told what to do ? Telling me what to do.. no way. sipi Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 My wife is half my size, but she has twice my brains. I do exactly as she tells me.
kingstonkid Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I am happy doing things she asked me too to an extent. Most of the time just to shut her up i suppose. \ Have you called him on it since when he is sober. People sometimes say and do things that they regret when drinking.
pgrahmm Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I have found my wife to have a very high percentage when it comes to common sense.....so much that I go with the flow - if I notice/question/point out/object to certain situation for the most part she'll come around after rethinking....if she is wrong she will apologize - but only after weighing everything......sometimes it's her enthusiastic snap judgements she does not think through that are the toughest to approach during the spur of the moment....we are lucky as we both back off and rethink before talking and always seem to balance one another.....she's always so softly gung ho positive all the time it still catches me off guard.....not at all like "western" women regardless of origin.... 1
questionsreplies Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I think he wanted to say that no woman in this world tells me what to do, not only Thai, and he is right, too many guys are jusy balless.... 1

Aussieroaming Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 i listen to my wifes point of view and i agree or I don't. There is no need to do everything you are told, sometimes what you are told is wrong 2
45slap Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I constantly explain to my girlfriend that she can only tell me what to do in the bedroom. In there, and only in there, she is the boss!
AYJAYDEE Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I rarely listen to anything my gf says. If she keeps talking at me, I put my headphones on and listen to music or I go out. wouldnt a blow-up doll be cheaper?
SoiBiker Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 My wife has much smarter ways of getting me to do what she wants than simply telling me what to do.
wooloomooloo Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I agree to certain requests and I expect my wife to do the necessary, though I never ask. Simple and effective mutual arrangement for our lives.

Listening.. sure I can't know everything. Good point Rob. It's one thing listening to your wifes advice, sometimes we all need it right? it's another her mopping the floor with your balls. 1
