Police to probe contracts for advertisement boards at police kiosks

BANGKOK, 7 January 2015 (NNT) – Royal Thai Police Deputy Commissioner Pongsapat Pongcharoen on Tuesday chaired a meeting of police officials and representatives from the Treasury Department over the issue of the allegedly unauthorized advertisement boards on top of police kiosks.

According to Police General Pongsapat, there are around 6,000 police kiosks nationwide and 805 of these have been fitted with advertisement boards. 173 of the advertisement boards have been installed at police kiosks under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police.

The Treasury Department has concluded that all of the pieces of land the police kiosks are situated on belong to the department, and the decision of whether to continue allowing the advertisement boards will rest solely on the department.

Pol. Gen. Pongsapat said a probe would be launched into the contracts made between businesses and the Metropolitan Police and between businesses and the regions 1-9 police, to ensure that everything was in accord with the regulations of the Royal Thai Police. After the probe, the decision of whether to allow the advertisement boards to stay until the expiry of the contracts will be made.

I bet that if they posted the 'regulations' of the RTP, it would be a best selling fictional comedy!

And you and your ilk would be the first to criticize if nothing was done. Which way do you want it.

Bur no answer needed, your objective is obvious - turn everything to a negative.

Give us a straight example of something that is plain positive, even without needing to be 'turned', anything, your pick, whatever you can find...

IMO 90+%, and that's a MASSIVE score, of the true, small, basic Thais are most splendid people, that's why I love Thailand, and I mean that, as much as I mean all the structures and organisations I know of, the lot, are corrupt, depraved, from top to bottom, to be erased and rebuild from fundaments up. Prove me wrong, please, give me hope, please, for the Thais I love, who have long lost theirs!

Yet another slapstick joke from the Police and other Generals: it's as if nobody noticed the huge advertisement boards before, as nobody ever came up with the question whether this was all 'kosher', ha-ha-ha!

They don't even care about anyone believing their trash, as long as they don't lose face, and money keeps flowing in... Brothers in harms!

Leave the signs & have them sponsored to display the horror that is the Thai death toll from motor vehicle accidents. Show the bloodied helmetless victims, the children & the families that have been left without loved ones. Show the daily cost to society in Baht of each death. As money is usually the only thing on their minds maybe showing the actuall cost to the country will have some affect.
