Katipo
That is one messed up sense of entitlement. Sadly it's all too prevalent in Thai society. Somehow everyone is owed a living, regardless of the consequences.

Just1Voice
"Buy my fake junk or I will stab you!" seems to be the motto these days. Really good impression for the tourists these days. NOT!

kurnell
For once why doesn't one of these boys in brown (appropriate colour) say 'it's a disgrace that a Thai national would seriously assault a guest in this country over something so trivial. What is wring in Thai society when it comes to this???'?

What is wring in Thai society when it comes to this???'? In fairness since the junta took over, assaults on tourists have been treated more seriously and a number of bars and clubs were closed for 30 to 90 days because of assaults on foreigners.
Popular Post ThePlant
Surprised none of the usual apologist gang have sprung up here blaming the 'faLang" for not having a PhD in Thai culture like they all do.... 5

Basil B
The watches were fake? Everybody, knows they are fake but these ones are poor copies of fake watches. Pol.Lt. Jakkrit Chantakam.... "warned tourists in Pattaya to be wary of vendors who may become aggressive if tourists refuse to buy their wares". What is he saying? "buy or else" He and his wooden tops should be out there moving on or arresting illegal street vendors. Edited January 10, 2015 by Basil B
Popular Post crazygreg44
one should tell tourists to stop negotiating with fake watch sellers from first hand. Don't even start a fri...g negotiation unless you really intend to buy a fake watch for the price that is called minus 70%. What is so astonishing, I watch the Russian tourists stop the fake watch seller, wind him up in a 30 minute bartering session, and then try to send him his way. If I was a seller, I would get angry, too. You are wasting my time, I have got a life to live by selling watches to people who are interested, not to people to just want to make it a show to their friends and their grandmother. Even if I get solicited while walking down the street, by a watch seller, I have the dignity of leaving HIM his very own dignity. I do NOT stand in front of him proudly proclaiming " Your watches are all but a fake" . I would tell him "leave me alone, I do not need a watch", and let him go after his business . .. I strongly doubt if you call them off in the correct manner, insisting you are not interested in his offers, they will stop insisting to sell you a watch and keep walking on, no matter if the fri....g watch is fake or not. just say no, in a polite and comitted manner. Stop insulting them or calling them scammers of a million of fake watches. You spit against the wind, you get spat yourself. Equalizer
Most most scary part of this story is the fact they took him to Pattaya memorial hospital. They shove as many drugs inside you as possible, keep you there as long as possible and continue until YOU the victim either come around or someone you know has the brains to ask them about insurance. Then you will get the answer, Ho we do not do insurance here pal. Happened to my mother, dirty bar stewards.
napoleon3
I do not want to help or support the Thai vendor, but, a lot off people do not know how to say : I do not need thank you. in Thai, easy, May auw, kap khun kap ( sorry for the spelling) but they do know how to say : F*** Off I suppose not many people like this kind off answer. I really do not know if this Russian tourist used these words, but this is only a general opinion.
