Former Senate Speaker not worried about NLA’s questioning process

BANGKOK, 15 January 2015 (NNT) – The former president of the Upper House is not worried about answering questions from members of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) as part of the impeachment trial against him.

Former Senate Speaker Nikom Wairatpanich said that, theoretically, members of the legislature should have submitted their questions to the responsible NLA committee to screen before they are used in the questioning process.

While casting doubt over the exclusion of the screening process, Mr. Nikom said that he is not worried about the NLA’s bending its meeting regulations, projecting that most questions should be something he has heard before. He affirmed that he will do his best in answering all the questions directed at him.

Mr. Nikom has informed the NLA that he will be present before members of the legislature on Thursday to answer all questions related to the impeachment motion the National Anti-Corruption Commission has recommended.

The former Senate Speaker as well as former House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont have been facing the impeachment recommendations for their involvement in the attempted amendment of the Constitution which is deemed illegal.

If you were to turn on a television at any given time, you would definitely see celebrities endorsing products in commercials, giving confirmation to consumers that they were making the right choice.
