Popular Post worgeordie
Property Development a dangerous profession in Thailand, I can never understand why the police come up with a motive, after a few minutes, they should keep an open mind, until they investigate,BUT maybe thats expecting too much, look at how many suspicious deaths are just quickly solved as suicides. regards Worgeordie

klauskunkel
Police gave two motives for the murder, business conflict and local politics. Police has to understand that a 'murder' needs a dead body playing a major role in the situation. This is in fact an attempted murder. Once the police has digested and internalized, if not fully understood this trivial concept, they can once more use their two brain cells to come up with motives. happy hunting

SoFarAndNear
Property Developer seems to be a dangerous job in Thailand. Probably it is because most of them scam the customers and also the workers who build the houses. A friend of mine bought a house in a property in Isaan 3 years ago. He and around 30 others house owner paid 4 to 5mio THB per house but the promised pool and fitness club and sauna and tennis court were never built!! One guy in the village bought his house for 5 mio and added around 5 mio extra for modifications on his house and property. So 10 mio THB for no Pool, Fitness or anything expect a security guard who sleep the whole day.... as far as I heared the developer only shows ups in the deep night sometimes...... bheard
Provincial councilor and property developer......no conflict of interests there then. Spot on. This happens the world over of course. Best place for a property developer to be - on the local council. But Thailand being Thailand, the degree of 'being screwed' by these people is likely to be somewhat higher than many other places. Can't really blame the perp for his frustration.

lazygourmet
Khun Pairoj being the most jovial neighbor at our house in Kunalai Village (he built it actually!) ; that was a bit of a shock to hear that news this morning from some mutual friends who phoned us. Cross finger that he will get better soon and that his life is not in jeopardy.

anon022
It's pretty much a lawless district, Bang Buathong Village, the villagers had to organize themselves and start a neighborhood watch, this was in 2009, when things had already been getting out of hand for a while, and with a total of three police men, it wasn't getting any better. Local government, red, controlled the money. It took over ten years to finally do something about the ever deteriorating condition of the streets, sewage system. It still couldn't prevent it from flooding in Oct. 2011 though. This lasted over 2 months with 160 - 200 cm standing water inside the houses. 10 people were found dead, floating inside their homes - electrocuted - because the local government had neglected to shut down the electricity - Nuff said Edited January 15, 2015 by Impossible
