Laid Back Accomodation Around Hua Hin?

Hello. Any recommendations for beach front bungalows or small hotels in the Hua Hin area including Suan Son Pradiphat, Takiap, Hat Sai? I don't want five star, high rise, overly touristy places. I want to go with the wife (Issan girl) and the kid (two and a half). We want to go to Hua Hin because it seems easy to get to from BKK (and the northeast of the country) and it seems like a potentially nice beach and possible to find alternatives to the five star, high rise scene. Or am I wrong? In any case, any recommendations? Can pay up to 1500 baht per night for a nice but laid back bungalow. Any other recommended villages or beaches in the area?

Try Cha-am in stead. Nicer beach and only full of thais in the weekend. Mon-Fri quiet and some not so expensive places near beach.

Agreed....many places with bungalows by the main beach, very calm during week days, affordable and safe family environment, a lot of nice places to visit...... and 20 minutes from busy Hua Hin street and beaches full of farangs and expensive restaurants.
