Understood Carmine.

I wish the Spurs good fortune.

Thankyou.

Funny thing is, we won't struggle because we do have quality. For us its the huge frustration of knowing we're a couple of top quality signings short to compete at the top. The major reason that Bale can go next year with my blessing would be if Levy doesn't make a statement of the clubs ambition in this summers t/f window

yeah cheers single pot.not kerry dixon in disguise are you ?, he was always good at single pots.biggrin.png

And Carmine Lets just hope that levy doesn't see keeping bale this year as his main 'statement of intent' I fear he does though.

Absolutely mate. Funny, Levy's son is a big Spurs fan and must be giving the old man some serious eye bending! I find myself shaking my head saying, "come mate just a couple a quality players and its game on" but it just doesn't happen.

Cool, didn't know this thread existed. Subscribing now. Seems Damiao is a little closer

http://www.london24.com/sport/agent_drops_biggest_hint_yet_that_spurs_target_could_be_premier_league_bound_1_2228931

And I am happy to see Gallas on his way..... Just feel he will be happier at slightly lower level now.

COYS

gallas was a great bit of business for us. Quality player, loads of experience and probably overused by AVB last season. Now we have first choice back with Daws, Caulker and Vertonghen it was time to go. The guy did a great job for us but we move on.

Kaboul and Vertonghen at center will be very good indeed.

welcome to the Spurs thread btwthumbsup.gif

Left back still remains an issue but we will see.

Yeah welcome to you Ian. smile.png

Theres no problem there with Rose coming back or with BAE for that matter if they sort out his distribution. He's very good on the ball just gives the bloody thing away too much

left hand side of the defense tends to be an issue for most teams at the mo we're v well covered with verity caulker rose, who needs to prove he can step up and bae,who needs to get his form bac a bit, hopefully a good pre season will help. tbh my only real worry is that caulker gets underused and someone comes in a nicks him!! A solution ?. last season nearly all the top moments verity has given us were coming forward, as we've seen he can do real damage, an option could be to give him a bit more licence and use him in front of caulker and dawson/kaboul giving us a real solid defense and licence to spring forward with pace ect ect? just a thought, ooh and not forgetting naughton who, 4 a while, as proved can do a job on the left hand side. we really are spoilt for choicebiggrin.png

Paris Saint-Germain want Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas to replace Carlo Ancelotti as their new boss.

Villas-Boas has emerged as the prime candidate after a series of discussions between PSG president Nasser El-Khelaifi and his advisers.

Its the daily fail. We're quite happy with our manager thanks...and he has a contract ups.....same as Gareth and Sandro.

All contracts are buyable and PSG apparently have money to burn.

That's not strictly true.

Not strictly, but if a manager /player definitely wants to go and someone offers a big compensation package it more than likely will happen. Nothing can be more destructive than having a person at the club who really wants to be elsewhere. In AVB's case I think it's only a rumour and a good rumour, full credit to the guy for doing so well after all the crap he endured at Chelsea. thumbsup.gif

now your describing something completely different, with contracts there are so many different variables
its impossible to sweepingly conclude, but saying that once the player/
manager says they want to leave it seems generally a matter of time,
but saying that a player wanting away is destructive, but is
it? actually if you talk to players and managers they don't see it as
such, 2 managers its a pain, but 2 players its just part of the
dressing room banter, they all want more money and better contracts and 2
play for bigger clubs, 4 me this 'destructive scenario' seems to created by the gutter press and effects the fans more than the clubs them selves,

Posted

Thanks for the welcome guys. The word destructive was used earlier..... The most destructive thing for me is the 'transfer window'. Why on earth do we have to wait for other countries to finish their season? The Premiership are the leaders in world football IMO. Other countries need to get in line, and our transfer window should start the day after the Champions League Final. The uncertainty and waiting around is the destructive element. Rant over.

Oh and it should close the day before the premierships first fixture in August. We all remember the Luka debacle.

They can take Sandro as well....£150m for the three of them and we can build a new stadium. Job done.

I think Bae is on his way,AVB obviously doesn't rate him so it's good bye for him, Caulker is not the finished product so only to be used sparingly, partially at fault for a few goals last season but hopefully will get better with experience.
