Its like a sick joke innit?

Up on the BBC website pleasem.

I am repulsed and nearly infuriated at the amount of money Spurs are planning to throw at this alleged box to box phenom. You will harvest what you sow with this irresponsible looting of the Spurs coffers.biggrin.png

Intriguing article from the blog theboyhotspur. Plenty of stuff in here that I was unaware of. COYS

Thought I would issue some clarification on our great club. To try and get everyone on the same page.

Lewis: Played a huge part in Harry Redknapps sacking the only time he has ever been hands on with the club. He was only hands on because of the concern with Levy possible leaving last summer. Plays no part with the club otherwise.

Levy: With the appointment of Baldini it now allows Levy to be more hands off. Contrary to peoples beliefs Levy is not the sole scout or negotiator at the club there are others who fulfill this role. Levy has had some horrific personal issues to deal with and hopefully will now spend the bulk of his time at home in New York.

On a personal noteLevy is the closest we will ever get to a fan running the club and I urge any criticism to look closely at what he does. Dave Whelan is praised to the hilt in the media, I wish Daniel Levy was too.

Collecott: The money man at the club, very quiet man, very astute man reminds me very much of Levy. Fulfills a role similar to Vice Chairman and runs the club in Levys absence.

Cullen: The Karren Brady of the club, has worked her way up through the club. Lovely woman and one of the most powerful at the club. Every press release, information, details all go through her. You cannot break wind without her permission. Also fulfills a role similar to vice chairwoman and runs the club in Levys absence.

Pleat/Comolli: With the addition of Baldini this now brings an end to both former d.o.f. working on an advisor basis to Levy. If you wondered why we had the same targets as Liverpool or why we signed Lloris that was down to Comolli. Comolli has around 12 staff of his own personally who scout the globe.

Baldini: He is not a chief scout (we have a scouting system) he is a negotiator and will control the administrative process of the club top to bottom. Baldini was due to join last year as a part of the shake up but Roma would not release him. This set us back really badly and up until January we had just a handful of scouts. To put this in to perspective Torquay United would of had more! Above AVB and a direct line to Daniel Levy.

Sherwood: Confused as to what his title will be now at the club, one of the most powerful people at the club and quite respected in the game. Will also shape the club top to bottom from schoolboys to the first team. More focused in the staff and youth at the club for example his appointment of avbs assistant Steffen Freund. AVB answers to him and a direct line to Donna Cullen. Weird situation where Sherwood could manage the under 21s but still be above the first team manager!

AVB: Head coach, I cannot stress this enough. He has never bought a player at any club, he does not get a big say in any players coming in although he is notified. The only issue was Lloris where avb was notified much later on in the process than usual and he was a little annoyed.Perfectly happy at the club and no release clause on his or anyone elses contract.

Freund: The reason we were late from changing rooms, he loves a chat! Nice man not sure he is the best for this role but we will see how he gets on this season.

Martins: AVBs real right hand man, very tactically astute man and great to have at the club.

Rocha: Best fitness coach in the game, consistently being poached by other clubs.

Sousa: Whenever you see a rumour (quite a bit in the media with this man) that Sousa has scouted a player, it is a lie. Sousa scouts teams we are playing he does not specialise in one player. He specialises in formations, etc.

Ramsey: Sherwoods right hand man, one of the most hard working and respected men at the club. Whilst in charge of the kids he commands respect from anyone and rather strangely was key in the club appointing AVB. In fact if it was not for this man AVB would not have got the job such is his ability. Many contacts in the game also.

Scouting Team: Now I cannot say much but I would expect another appointment as I feel we are missing a proper head of scouting. Carr from Newcastle may well return to us, fingers crossed! This group are separate to Baldini and Sherwood but answer to them. //

how on earth do you come up with that?!

If the deal goes through with have shown you how you can spend 13m less for a current international that is four years younger You should be repulsed by the manner in which your owners hemorrhage unnecessary cash in the transfer market.

Could be wrong but I think JD might have had his tongue in cheek.

Looks like Spurs have got the better Brazilian.

I know he was. wink.png

yes, this guy, IF we get him would be a real coup. It would also spell AVB's intention to play 4-3-3 next season playing Sandro Paulinho Dembele in the middle which would be rather special. with Bale and lennon on the flanks and the emerging Townsend as back up to either side we are now just waiting for that elusive new striker because we cannot trust adebayor to bother to play.

With a back four of Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose and Lloris in goal we are now looking very strong for next season if we can pull off another coup with a striker signing

Were being linked with Jackson Martinez the columbian striker at Porto.

I wouldn't get too excited as he has a 30m release clause

OK. I'll keep calm then.

Yes you do need to relax a bit more. You come across as rather highly strungthumbsup.gif

Don't be daft mate.....we're obviously signing him.

The only question is who he is back up for.

Maybe Cavani?

Paulinho sounds like he's hanging in for a better offer.  This deals a long way from done

Sounds like the clubs are happy with a fee. He's still at the Confed Cup so wait and see.

Hope this one comes to fruition....he looks a very good player indeed.

He's seemingly playing games. "Tottenham have made an offer but i won't decide what i am going to do until after the Confederations Cup." He's giving as much time as possible for someone else to come up with a better offer. I'd forget about this one for now if i were you! It still might happen you never know

Regarding Paulinho - unless its just about money he will prefer to go to a county where he speaks the language and the climate is right

Otherwise they should do what they did with Ardiles and Villa - sign a pair of Brazilians who are best friends

But I agree an proven goal scorer should be the main target for now

1 We already have a Brazillian

2 there are Brazillians playing all over europe and in the depths of Russia where its a <deleted> sight closer.

3 Unless the portugese is the spoken language in europe or across Russia its fairly clear they don't have any concerns about the language barrier.

4 Four years ago over 110 Brazillians played for european clubs in the champions league. It might be even higher this year.

probably a typographical error.

like Russia being closer to brazil than colder.

carmine will set us right

Socrates was suggesting that warm climate and portugese language were key reasons to decide where to play. They are clearly not. I highlighted the number playing in the CL as an example. The real number playing across europe will be much higher. He's highlighted the CL because he doesn't have an answer to the climate/language statements that contradict his post. Lets face it, its hardly breaking news that Spurs didn't qualify for the CL is it!! As to whether that decides Paulinho's decision is another matter but you wouldn't need to be a greek philosopher to understand that it won't be a positive! I've merely responded to his post to highlight he's wrong. Whether his last ditch throwing in of the CL factor is pivotal we'll know in a week or so's time. I personally think if he doesn't join us it will be more a case of being offered more money elsewhere but thats just my opinion

As to the russia closer than brazil thing i have no idea what thats about or the post that its in so i can't comment.
