I went to Vientiane to make my forth 2x Visa as i get it back i had a stamp on it : proofs of residence in thailand & financial income are required next time and a red remark ; the holder of this passport travel .....

What does it means and what i have to do next ? thank you sooooooooooooo much

You need to show you have means of living here by showing some proof of funds from outside the country. The best proof would be a Thai bank book showing money coming in from abroad.

I would suggest that she writes that you live with her for how long, they might ask for her telephone number also. Ideally she should go with you.

yesss thanks it's a good advice ! with a new passport i will have to show the income too ? is this a new rule now ? but the money on the bank book has to be from abroad ? right ? or a job as a teacher (with workpermit) would show income too ?

It needs to be from abroad to prove you are not working here. If you had a work permit you would have a non-b visa or an extension of stay not a tourist visa.

You need 20k baht to get a visa. Perhaps that times a few months or a monthly amount of 20k baht or so.

When I went to do my retirement extension at Jomtien 3 weeks ago I took a copy of my wife's blue book ( first page) and a couple of bills in my name and they were accepted.

I did not have anything from my wife to say I was living with her. I am but they did not ask the question.

Although I had the blue book with me they did not ask to see the book either.

It took about 15 minutes. It would have been quicker if the guy hadn't buggered off to play with his phone for 10 minutes.

I received the same stamp some months ago .To get another Doubletourist visa i copied all westernunion recipes and various and bankstatements from overseas.Besides i asked for a residence certificate at Jomtien Immigration (I think its now 300 bt) .Finally got another doubleentry touristvisa in Laos but in addition a further redstamp stating that its not possible at all to get anothertouristvisa and that i would have to get the right visa in future .Be prepared to see the same might happen to you aswell.Good Luck

I have always provided proof of address for an extension. Filling the form in does not proove you are living at the address you are saying hence they have always wanted to see evidence from me.

Adam get your gf to call the Immigration office and get the name of the person who informed her of what you need, that way if there is a misunderstanding you can quote them.

I have to say it is reasonable for any country to ask for proof of savings/income or both but most people on here seems totally amazed.

Adam you said it yourself fourth Tourist Visa presumably back to back hardly defines you as a tourist more as a resident, you are lucky they are even entertaining this! It won't last forever so you need to start looking at other Visas.

Adam you said it yourself fourth Tourist Visa presumably back to back hardly defines you as a tourist more as a resident, you are lucky they are even entertaining this! It won't last forever so you need to start looking at other Visas.

You mean an ed- Visa , married or workpermit right ?
