Picking up passport and supporting documents from Trendy building for UK visitor visa application

BMs Thanks in anticipation of related feedback.

I am assisting a mate, who has returned to the UK, with his Thai GF's visitor visa application to the UK.

She has an appointment in approx 2 weeks at the Trendy building for the biometric stuff and handing in the supporting docs. Do they do anything else at these appointments?

My principle question is does she pick up her passport and the supporting docs once the visa decision has been arrived at, say three weeks hence after appointment or do these get sent to her in the post?

Also any tips on what she can expect at the Trendy building when she arrives?

A further thought, What can she expect if she is called back for an interview?

Many thanks

1) VFS collect the printed and signed application form, the supporting documents and take her biometrics for forwarding to the entry clearance section at the embassy.

They do offer various user pay services she can opt for, if she wants to and qualifies.

2) Once the decision has been made her passport and supporting documents will be returned from the embassy to VFS.

She will be notified of this, though they wont tell her the result as the embassy consider it to be confidential and VFS wont know it.

Her passport etc. will be held by VFS for collection by her; unless at the time of submitting the application she opts for return by courier, which costs 250baht.

3) Once inside the VFS office the procedure is straightforward. The biggest thing she should be aware of is the touts hanging around outside who may try and give the impression they work for VFS; they don't!

These touts will offer to check her application. They will always claim to have found something wrong and then offer to fix it for a fee.

She must ignore them; they have nothing to do with VFS, the embassy or UKVI.

4) It is extremely rare that any applicant for a UK visa of any type is called in for a face to face interview; especially visit visa applicants.

She may be contacted by phone; but this too is very rare.

If she is, it will be to clarify something in the application.

As long as she has told the truth in the application and tells the truth if contacted, then she will have nothing to worry about.
