AIS Sim Card registration Pattaya

Dropped by the AIS/Telewiz chop at Big C Extra and used my Thai DL to register the SIM; took less than a minute.

I just checked the *151# option and although it confirms it is registered, the passport/ID number linked to it is wrong. I will do it again later today.

Did mine at the True shop next to Tukcom on Pattaya Tai yesterday. Gave them my mobile and passport and it was all done in 1 minute.

It is easy, isn't it? I did that at the DTac office in South Pattaya. Copy of passport, everything good... only to find out it still wasn't registered and I had to go back to a DTac office to go through the process a second time.

how to check is my sim card 3g compatible ?

Thai SIM? Put it in your phone. Your phone will tell you what signal it can process. The answer is at the top of the phone screen. It will say E (for slower Edge network), 3G or 4G (if phone can use a 4G network). Sometimes, it will switch from slower to faster or faster to slower, depending on mobile traffic.

At least you can check whether you are booked to the 3G network.

Try this USSD code (finding your own number):

*545#<dial>

Likely the response will be in Thai but show "AIS3G ..." in quotes.

The text after AIS3G is "1-2-call" in Thai transcription tongue.png

Yep, ultimate test.

Smartphones usually show symbols, like mine does:

"H+" on the left stands for so called "HSDPA+".

Theoretical rates between 3.6 to 7.2 MBit/s.
