Hi guys,

I have been living in Bangkok for about 1 year and a half on a student visa. After that I changed it to a non immigrant O visa (90day) as I have a Thai wife and son. I have all marriage and birth certificates for Australia and Thailand and all good with that.

As it is I am not going to do the 400 000baht thing in my bank and do a one year visa as we have decided to go back to Australia for a 6 months break.

My flights are booked to leave mid March but my 90 day visa runs out on the 1st of March leaving me short.

So I have used the search function here and done some reading to see what I need to do as I just want a 2 week extension. From what I read they offer a 60day extension which is fine.

So below is what I read here on other posts and it sounds like what I need. Is this what I need to do for a 60day extension?

2.24 In the case of visiting a spouse or children who are of Thai nationality:
Each permission shall be granted for no more than 60 days.

1. Application form.
2. Copy of applicant’s passport.
3. Copy of household registration certificate.
4. Copy of national ID card of the person having Thai nationality.
5. Copy of a marriage certificate or copy of a birth certificate.

So I just need those 5 things and go to immigration tomorrow and I can get an extension plus the 1900Baht ;-)

Thanks

Ohh serious do I need to take her with me. I was not planning to as she was staying home with the 3year old. I am guessing as you said that it must be stated somewhere so thanks for the heads up.

When I applied for the original 90day visa she of course never came with me and I had her write a letter stating we are still married and so on. Any chance you know if that would do this time or take her to be sure maybe.

Thanks

They want your wife to be with you to meet the following requirement to get the the extension under clause 2.24 of police order 327/2557.

"(2) In the case of spouse, the relationship must be de jure and de facto."

Just to confirm Ubonjoe was correct I needed to have my wife there. I only needed a extension for 14days but they give you the default 60day extension. One last note is the form you fill out if you download it you will see you need a passport photo as well. I got the form there so I was unaware I needed one but lucky I had some in my paperwork pouch :-) So anyone else going for a extension make sure you take a photo with you.

Thanks for the help ubonjoe and poorSucker much appreciated
