PatOngo
I'm surprised the hi-so VIP's did'nt throw a tantrum and demand the flight take off regardless.
steveyinasia
5 VIP's on the plane of how many? Would this have even been news if there were no VIP's on board?

willyumiii
Give them credit for not going anyway. I know a woman who was on a flight from OZ to USA. Door was not closed properly and many suffered ear damage from air pressure problems. Nok air had a problem and too the safe option. Good for them! bangon04
Is this the same plane that couldn't have its door shut in lampang? http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/nok-air-flight-cancelled-lampang-plane-door-fails-close is there a pattern here? They only have 2 ATRs, so it is most likely the same plane.
scorecard
Another report, a Nok person said the aircraft is new and therefore still needs some adjustment and a bit of oil. Sorry I don't buy that at all. Surely no aircraft manufacturer would release a new aircraft to a customer in this state. Perhaps the TV flying buffs could comment. Wilsonandson
60, doesn't look that old, I thought she was in her 40's. As for the door, well if it opened in flight the cabin pressure could have been breached resulting in the plane being documented in an episode of air crash investigation. The doors are checked from the factory however: In a different environment the cables and weights inside the door can act different at different airfields. CNXBKKMAN
Brand new Dash 8-400 and I believe it had the same problem in Lampang. This model of aircraft has had under carriage issues in the past.

There have been many incidences of new aircraft, in service, having problems, particularly a new model. Just a minor incident, and the door really didn't care who was on board.
