Does the Foodland on Sukhumvit 5 Sell packaged meals?

I live near the Foodland on Sukhumvit 16 and unfortunately it doesn't sell prepackaged meals. The tops supermarket underneath the McDonald's does though, although it's a bit of a walk.

I'm thinking of moving closer to Nana Plaza and the closest grocery store would be the Sukhumvit 5 Foodland. I remember walking by there a few times and it seems like a bigger and more active store. Can anyone recall if they sell prepackaged fresh meals there? (I'm mainly interested in the rice-based meals)

EDIT: hopefully a moderator can change the title to "Does the Foodland on Sukhumvit 5 sell packaged meals?"

No unfortunately not. nowhere. That is why I almost never buy at Foodland these days. The Soi 5 branch had lovely meatballs in their Butcher's section before the renovation work started, but now not any longer. The bakery used to be quite okay too, but is now less than half the size as before and the products are a joke. The only thing Foodland Soi 5 is good for nowadays is the largest selection of mustards in the Kingdom..... plus they used to sell the HILLTRIBE COFFEE from Chiang Mai, but not sure if they still do in year 2015

As you mentioned, TOPs is a good place to buy ready-to-eat-meals, though it comes with a pricetag. BigC, and here particularly the BigC Extra, former Carrefour Megastores, have plenty of ready-to-eat-meals too and cost maybe half of what TOPs charges. Rama IV and the one at Ratchaphrasong (opposite Central World) are good downtown-locations for such BigC stores. The Rama IV store has a great bakery too with lots of European style breads (Sourdough and the likes) and pastries.

Yes, it does, as do all the Foodlands. Go to the Took Lae Dee restaurant and order what you want to take home in a package. That way you know it hasn't been fermenting on the shelf for hours before you have to eat it.

Villa on Soi 11 has some. Sushi, sandwiches, pasta, salad etc. I don't think I've ever seen Thai meals like in Tops though. They are the best when it comes to supermarket meals

no they don't as this is not the actual Foodland Supermarket.

plus the food at the said attached restaurant is neither TOOK nor DEE. If he wanna buy take away food "Glap Baan", he could do that at every corner in the City. And I am sure he knows this and there is a reason why he asked for the food INSIDE the Supermarket

You live near soi 16 and too lazy to go to soi 5 to check? Why not just go to the grocery store at Terminal 21?

Why not just go to the grocery store food court at Terminal 21?

I am sure the OP is aware that there is plenty of streetfood available in Bangkok but he will have a reason why he asked for food to TAKE HOME so why recommend things he obviously isn't interested in ?

plus at the said food court you can not get a serving of fried rice or noodles for 12 Baht as you can get at BigC. there are people living in this City who have to watch their budget

Yes, they do and yes, every Took Lae Dee is in the actual supermarket premises.

Who cares whether you think their food is cheap or good, that wasn't the OP's question.

Indeed, so why are you bringing up Big C's 12 baht fried rice that he obviously has no interest in? He was asking about Foodland, Soi 5.
