Not Thailand related. This topic would be more appropriate in the farang pub section.

Topic moved.

edit: I read an interview with Nicolas Cage, he spent alot of time researching this role, lived the life of his character, as it were.

First movie Oliver Stone made that's not from the bleeding-heart left wing commie point of view... :D

Interesting.

Most "commies" were left wing granted. Some were so left wing they came round the

other side (Stalin , Beria et al). But not many had "bleeding hearts". Couldn't have

"stayed with the programme" if they did. Still , four legs good two legs bad and all that.

It was just an expression/metaphor as it were for a movie Oliver Stone has done well - w/out a political agenda. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

honestly, I still feel like *we're not ready* I cry even during the commercials, and I didn't even lose anyone I actually knew in the tragedy. I think it shows poor taste, the Hollywood penchant to *get the movie out before anyone else does* Still, it seems like vulturism. Or perhaps the wine is making me self-righteous again. Could be.

I REALLY enjoyed the other one (Flight 931?) even though it scared the heck out of me.

Those passengers were heroes. What is wrong with showing what they had to go through? :o

Interesting. I saw both Flight 93 and the World Trade center movie, and the one which REALLY upset me, probably because of the way they filmed the movie (hand held camera, to re create the feeling of being thrown about), was the Flight 93 movie.

Emotionally the WTC movie affected me more, but physically and mentally, the Flight 93 had a greater effect. Mentally because it made an attempt to recreate the mystery of the moments we were all wondering when it was going to stop, the crashes. Tower One, Tower two, the crash landing of Flight 93, the Pentagon missle/plane crash, etc. Who was doing this, and what did they want, exactly?

That was one of the mental effects on my watching Flight 93.

Neither movie was much fun for me....needless to say. In the WTC movie they made a real attempt to show what the sounds were like under the buildings, near them as pieces fell, and that was something which seemed to affect everyone in the theater.

Glad to see, at my advanced age, some people's perception can still amaze me. "Bring it on" sounds vaguely familiar. I thnik another oxygen thief said the same thing over 2000 dead GI's ago.
