Hi Scouser

I read with more than a passing interest at your post about dual UK citizenship.

I was born in the UK but migrated to Oz when I was 8 years old with my family, therefore I hold 2 passports, British and Australian.

The reason this subject interests me so much is maybe I can get a UK family visa for my Thai wife and son. My wife has just applied for an Oz spouse visa but this could take months to process so I am thinking maybe we could live in UK for a while untill we get approved.

Any comments most welcome.

(My son now has Oz citizenship by decent)

The fact that she has applied for a settlement visa to Australia and is awaiting the result would, IMHO, make it very difficult if not impossible for her to get a UK settlement visa as she would need to show that it was her intention to settle permanently in the UK.

However, there is no reason why she can't apply for a visit visa, especially if you still have family and close contacts in the UK.

Thanks GU22

I was not thinking about spouse visa for UK, I was thinking about work over there for a few months, that way she and my son could come with me to the UK and we could stay untill her visa for Oz came through.

I could pick up work very quickly, at least we would be together.
