How hot at your place today

Featured Replies

I seriously didn't think the NE Summer could be worse than last year, but it already is heading that way. I thought the same in 2013. I am now finding the heat more and more unbearable each year.

What is going on?

Haha Sipi I am in Scotland right now...its nearly 2pm and the grey clouds are descending.....

Luckily I'm trapped in a cocktail bar. :o

Back home soon...I'll pack the wifebeaters!

Agree ,Sipi, and it is only the 6th march, really think this year i will have to decamp for cooler climes, pity there is no Simla here.

38.3 Celsius, 101 Farenhiet in Chiang Mai on Saturday, 07/03/2558.

North of Sizzling Hot Always Bangkok is where the heat is trapped, it has been over 38 Celsius for 4 days since3/3/2558. BUT this is hot season in Thailand, chimi.

HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

I am from Albany, New York in USA. We have only had ONE 38 Celsius day since 1876, that day was in year 2493 0r USA year of 1950.

Pattaya. I think it's rather cool for the time of year.

1950 does not belong to the USA. The correct format is CE 1950. CE meaning Christan Era. For the year system used in Thailand it is BE. Buddhist Era.

There is 543 years difference between the two. That never changes as a BE year has the same length and starts on the same day as a CE year.

Refreshing to see an American using Celsius though. Far better than that old F system.

Getting a bit too hot for me also, glad I'm going back to the uk in a few weeks then back for the rainy season.

I must have been here too long. It doesn't bother me in the least. Use AC in the bedroom but have it set at 29 and it is mainly then a dehumidifier. I do stay home during most of April though. Not because of the heat but the idiot songkraners and the prevalence of drunk drivers.

Pattaya is also getting hot now, still a nice breeze in the afternoon . My air-con is in use 12 hours of the day .

Perhaps I should have said the bedroom is only AC in the sleep time. About 6 hours nightly. Study, living room, kitchen, garden are all fans. Showers do increase during hot season. Up to 4 day. Nothing like washing all the sweat away. Refreshing.

Don't forget the more you sweat the more you need to drink water. I'm up to 4.5 liters of cold filtered tap per day at the moment. Used to drink a lot of those sports drinks like sponser. Doctor reckoned after blood test that I was consuming too many of them so cut back to one or two a week.

Happy hot season.

It doesn't belong to the christians, either.

CE = common era (some say current era)

BCE = before common era

Never said it did. Christian or Common its just measuring a point in time not an ownership.

Today I got stuck in an elevator at the Rajavitij hospital. When the doors finally opened everyone was so sweaty it looked like songkran came early.

Where I live near Phayao it reached 36C. This was in the hottest part of our house. I think the smoke screen kept it at this temperature. The humidity is low so no problems. I previously lived in the tropics of Australia. Still good here except for the smoke.

It's the fact that everyone was smiling which makes it nice - Winter is almost over. I hope!!

It's amazing what a bit of sunshine can do, just to make people happier and friendlier. Even the old trout where i buy my cigarettes cracked a smile.

And i'm gonna shave my legs tomorrow!!! And put on my leprechaun outfit.

Did you know that the Edinburgh Castle Rock is going to go green for the first time?

Not so hot in Chiang Mai, as the haze is blocking out the sun!

anyway we have a cool house, with plenty of trees and shrubs

around ,a Koi pond and river at the rear,no need for A/C s,

just use wall or standing fans, plus keep windows open.

Thanks mate, yeah i am interested in the heat index,37,feels like 41,as they have it on the weather channel website,i guess due to wind,or the lack of it,yes supposed to get really hot the next few days, then a lot of storms, down on the rainfall as to this time last year.
