Royal Thai Police to set up ASEAN Center and provide multilingual service

BANGKOK, 12 March 2015 (NNT) – The Royal Thai Police (RTP) is gearing up on the ASEAN Center's establishment and the development of a multilingual application along with bilingual police tickets for universality, says the RTP Deputy Commissioner General.

The RTP Deputy Commissioner-General Pol Gen Wut Liptapanlop, acting as the director of the police ASEAN Center, has revealed the progress on the establishment of the ASEAN Center and other metropolitan police’s policies geared towards the ASEAN Community.

He said that the ASEAN Center will become a coordination center with 10 member countries' embassies to suppress international crimes including money laundering, narcotics, and human trafficking. These objectives are in accordance with the directives in the ASEANAPOL agreement.

All international arrest warrants in the ASEAN Community will be filed into a database designed to track suspects, while an application will also be setup to provide allegation information in all languages of the ASEAN members countries, says the RTP Deputy Commissioner-General.

He stressed the importance on the traffic and transportation management, saying that the management must be able to operate at an increased capacity, due to the expected increase of foreign tourists visiting Thailand. The police will print a new version of the police tickets with both Thai and English texts for universal understanding, and will also provide language training to police officers nationwide.

The RTP Deputy Commissioner-General also urged all officers to uphold human rights principles, for suspects from ASEAN countries and tourists. The Commissioner General will also be required to provide consumers protection for foreign tourists as well.

Royal Thai Police to set up ASEAN Center and provide multilingual service

Good, Thai and Isaan.

Well after the stellar job they've done with English speakers who better to offer the same standard of bored indifference to ASEAN ?

"The Commissioner General will also be required to provide consumers protection for foreign tourists as well."

Gets my vote.

If I had one that is.

Which I don't.

Now does this mean the RTP can except and extort bribes in any language?

As expected the standard two tier pricing system will be in effect Thai price and all others on a sliding scale bases plus the updated bribe price for all farangs cheesy.gif

Depending on what language they have to use, it will reflect directly on how much money they ask for.

Is this a sign of being here too long? Whenever I read something starting with The Royal Thai Police (RTP) is gearing up to...

my first thought is: oh oh- here comes trouble again.

Royal Thai Police to set up ASEAN Center and provide multilingual service because the RTP understand what great regard they are held in by the Asean countries if not the whole World
