steven100 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) ' All Thai Taxi ' service to begin soon. The service has confirmed the new cars will have good respectable drivers who will take every passenger where they want to go. The service will operate via an easy app on your smartphone or by calling the hotline. There has been recent press conferences about the new taxi service to be launched in Bangkok. It is operated by Nakhon Chai Air. The 500 yellow taxis are Toyota Prius Hybrid, which is an electric mid-size hatchback. The test run will start on 20 April after the Songkran holidays. Then in May they will start with a fuller service. To call them, you will be able to use an app on your smartphone or by calling the hotline. The service charge for this is 20 Baht. On the dashboard there is a “monitoring camera” for the safety of both the driver and passengers. Taxis will have an automatic breathalyzer for the driver which is to be linked to the ignition key. This is the trunk of the new taxi. In the trunk there is no gas tank and so plenty of room for luggage. Edited March 18, 2015 by steven100
steven100 Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 We'll take you there - 18 Mar 2015 at 06:00 New app aims to restore the rep of Bangkok taxis Taxi drivers refusing to take passengers to their desired destination continues to make the headlines and provide a constant source of headaches for Bangkok dwellers. Attempting to fill this sizeable gap. Taxi-related problems in Thailand usually stem from an inefficient management system. For example, as most taxis in Bangkok are rented cabs, drivers usually claim they are declining a particular passenger as they have to rush to return their vehicles to the taxi centre. All Thai Taxi cabs, however, belong to the company and the drivers are employees. All Thai Taxi will provide 150 spots around Bangkok where the drivers can park after they drop off one passenger without having to roam around to find the next. Drivers will then be alerted to the availability of a new passenger via the application.

steven100 Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 Foreign Tourists Allegedly Dumped on Tollway by Thai Taxi By Khaosod Eng. BANGKOK — The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) says it is investigating a claim that a taxi driver stranded a family of foreign tourists on a highway in Bangkok. The allegation surfaced after a Facebook user named Surachai Hiranpraditthakul posted a photo that purported to show a foreign couple and toddler being forced to get out of a cab on the expressway because their taxi driver took a wrong turn.According to Surachai, the family hailed the cab from Suvarnabhumi Airport and asked to go to Rama IX Road, but the driver missed the exit on the expressway and did not want to look for another U-Turn, so he simply forced the passengers to get out."Aren't Thai taxis bastards?" Surachai wrote, "A driver kicked foreigners out on the tollway. Friends, don't only read this post. You can freely curse the [driver]." Read More: http://www.khaosoden...wsid=1426856475
