Bmouthboyo
Hi Guys, My wife is a trailing spouse from UK who is fully RIBA qualified and has a lot of Architectural experience from back home. We are looking at long term plans one avenue to explore is the possibility of finding Architectural work in a practice here in Bangkok. We are aware the need for an expat architect is slim to none here in Thailand but thought it is worth looking into. Does anyone know of anyone here in this capacity? Or where one could find such posts advertised? Thanks
Soutpeel
Try these, they may have some info, guessing it would pretty much be a closed shop in Thailand, but you never know http://10times.com/organizers/association-of-siamese-architects http://www.thailandarchitects.com/home

Sophon
It probably won't help that architecture is on the list of prohibited professions for foreigners. There are ways around that, but it means that the job would have to be a managerial or similar position - not as an architect. Sophon Which, of course, explains why there are so few buildings of any architectural merit here. Even the much fêted Sumet Jumsai na Ayudhya produces novelty buildings - nothing special.
