I don't have any agent to recommend but if you are planning to go to Mae Sai I would use the VIP Green Bus service basically because it is safer. Wherever possible in Thailand I decline to use the small minibuses that the visa agent is sure to use.

If you do decide to use the green bus which departs from Arcade bus station, buy your ticket at least a couple of days before departure because they can get busy. You can do it all in a day quite easily with plenty of spare time to do a bit of shopping on the Tachilek side.

I'll second that recommendation. It's a comfortable (but often cold due to A/C) ride there and back. The seats recline almost all the way, so you can get on the bus, sit back and go to sleep, and wake up in Mae Sai. If you book a week ahead, you can get seat A1 which is a single just in front of the door giving you the most leg and shoulder room. The bus makes a 5 minute stop in Chiang Rai, for bathroom break or snack food. There will be a songtaew waiting at the bus station to take you directly to the border crossing. If you prefer, there are also motorcycle taxis available. You'll have an hour or two on the Burma side of the bridge to wander through the stalls and do some shopping if you wish.

As stated above, take the Green Bus from Arcade, I prefer the 8 am bus to Mae Sai and the 3:30 pm return bus (but if you don't want to go shopping you can take the 2:30 return bus). Get your tickets at least a few days in advance, and bring something warm for when they blast the A/C--it gets cold on the return trip after the sun goes down. No matter what day you go there will be other visa runners on the bus, just follow them.

I demanded another seat after being given a-1. If you are very tall, you won't be able to recline the seat all the way. I did the mini-bus fist time, complete with hilltribe tour....never, ever, again. Long live Green Bus. If my airline travel was as safe, efficient, and on-time like they are; I would be a happier man. The crossing is now open until 21:00...and I believe it is suppose to ne midnight in the coming months. You can always spend a night in Chiang Rai, coming or going, (B2 Hotel is about 330 THB)...vans leaving very frequently from CNR for 46 THB, thb will take you to the Mae Sai bus station...and in fact those vans may go all the to Immigration.
