Floating Bazaar Tani buoyed up in Pattani River

PATTANI, 4 April 2015 (NNT) – In a latest move to stimulate the economy and people’ s confidence, different agencies in the Deep South have jointly inaugurated a floating bazaar in Pattani province which will serve as a new destination for tourists and shoppers.

The recently-launched bazaar dubbed ‘Floating Bazaar Tani’ is a collaboration among various organizations namely Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre (SBPAC), Pattani Provincial Administrative Organization, Pattani Municipality, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and local businessmen.

The venue features more than 100 booths and boat outlets selling locally-made products and the art street where art lovers and artists can boast and commercialize their creativity. In the initial stage, the floating bazaar will be held for three consecutive times on Friday and Saturday of the first week of each month. The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow.

The organizers hope that the fair would attract more than 10,000 visitors each time, generating at least 10 million baht for the economy.
