Tried Classic burgers today .Just had the fries at B60 ,as i am not prepared to pay over B100 for a burger in Thailand from a hole in the wall .The fries were very good and the staff were very sweet. .

The "Burger Box" at night plaza should be within budget then. I used to eat there quite a bit before, but now much prefer Classic Burger. More expensive, but much better too.

Can't really agree with anyone suggesting it's overpriced/farangpriced. Price seems fair too me, especially if you order one of their sets. The Burger Box price is fair too, but I prefer to pay a little more for better quality. Far too much fat/oil in the Burger Box burgers. Classic Burger is much leaner.

Tried a burger last night at Papa Rock in Mae Hia. That was superb. Very big! Think next time I'd take it without the salad / trimmings as it was probably a bit too much but the burger itself was really good. 250 if I remember correctly so not cheap and of course it's a way out unless you happen to be out there. The potato wedges they serve with it are O.K. too although I'm not generally a fan of them, rather have regular well cooked fries.

It is so sad that a comment like this has been made.If your budget is that low ,maybe it is time to go back to your own country and contact the Salvation Army for hand outs.I am told they do a nice soup.

I have lived in Thailand 10 years .Went from being a baht millionaire ,to more modest means .I live now on an average Thai persons budget .Have a nice large house i own with my Thai wife .My wife has her own business .I supported her for 6 years ,now she helps me out .My average healthy meal costs from B30 to B 60 .

>>go home <<....not an option as at 63 years old my chances of getting a job are next to zero ,and after being more than 2 years abroad Social services will give me nothing .If i went home just now i would most likely end up homeless on the streets and probably die within 2 months ,due to the current snow and -0C temperature .Think a little before putting your foot in your mouth .(i am all right jack syndrom ).Before anyone asks i have a current visa .

Comparing Western Standards to Farang food. Paying double or triple for Farang food is the normal. How many Thais tell you they fancy a good burger and chips.

I went to Classic Burgers the other day

My Take On The Place

1. Big Bun, good veggies on Burger, Burger average perhaps a little dry but not bad

2. Fries- Super Hot, Crisp, Delicious - would go back just for the fries

3. Service - Friendly

4. Price -Okay for me, the meal plans are the best deal overall if you want everything

5. Atmosphere - Friendly as I said, the occasional Thai Street Lady Trying To Sell Me Stuff , loud mouth people sometimes walking by both Thai and Falang and noisy bikes but you kind of got to expect that in a restaurant that is outside and on a busy street

6. They also have buy 9 burgers and get one free member card for those of you are died hard burger eaters

7. Have Free WIFI with password on the menu, but I didnt test it.

8. Also have Breakfast but was eating burger at night so can't review that

Overall not a bad place, burger average, fries were kick ass, friendly staff and noisy street.. that about sums it up:)

Just an update .The day i went at around 2 .30 pm ,i was the only customer but one ,who was also just eating fries .The backpackers around there would rather spend the price of a burger B150 on a night accommodation .Conclusion =There promotion is over and they are now overpriced for the average backpacker/and skint expat like me

in the area .

well I cant really say if it is expensive or not, it will be expensive to some and not to others , it is all relative

159 for regular burger+fries+drink not too bad for me personally and about 3x cheaper as I would have to pay for it in my home country

Anyway I liked the place, I dont eat burgers a lot, just when I get a craving. I will be back again to the place, the fries as I said were worth the trip alone

I'm going to have to try Classic Burger soon, if only for the reviews of the fries. How's the parking on Moonmuang Soi 9?

Classic Burgers looks and sounds good by all accounts. On Tuesday I went out to Papa Rocks, it was the first time Id been there. Ordered the burger with blue cheese.

As other have said ...it is a very big burger. Juicy and with a very fresh bun. It was so big I only managed to eat half of it in one sitting and the staff were more than happy to pack it up for me to take home. Now I like food and big portions, but they beat me on this one.

Some will scoff at the 250 baht price tag, but I can honestly say its well worth it. If I was to be so brash and compare Papa Rocks to say McD's or Burger King, then dollar for dollar Id rather have Papa Rocks anyday. Better product and greater value.

Well done to Papa Rocks, will try and get into Classic burger tomorrow for a bit of a nose bag.

there's none for A 4-wheel vehicle; you'll need to park on the moat with your hazards flashing.

Gave Classic a try yesterday, I don't use the usual fast food burger places. I had the Classic burger with chips (fries), at least they tasted of potato, decent size as well, not like those tooth pick size things that have never seen a potato!

The burger was spot on, 159bt with a bottle of water. I was as well full, really enjoyed it.

i tried classic burger because of this thread and It was really really good, however I'm always the only person eating there. When I ride by it's always empty. ??

20 yards past the burger place is parking on the left for 20baht an hour.

Classic Burgers is now one of the options on 'Meals on wheels 4 U'. Have to say the burger I had looked NOTHING like those shown in the pictures used on that announcement. Mine was smaller and thinner. Might've tasted better and been less dry had it not have been.

I thought that it was a very dry burger when I tried it in their shop too but the price is right, and I think that's the most important thing to most people here. If TVers were interested in quality there wouldn't be 20 page threads about burger joints. Edited by suzannegoh

tried classic burgers and i must say there thick cut skin on fries/chips are delicious, but the burger was dry and bland and i doubt ill be back. My personal preference is echo burger nimminhamin soi 5, you can get an egg on your burger which i really like the only drawback is on a few occasions when i pop in during their scheduled opening hours they are not open.

There is also damn good burgers on nimminhmain soi 17, good value and decent taste

I agree with you on that point but it does have a place in the title of the thread "decent burgers" it wouldn't stand a chance if the title read "great burgers"

I reckon the cheese and ham toastie tops the '7/11 fine dining experience'!

I don't echo your sentiments about Damn Good Burgers. I went there and ordered their 300 baht signature burger.

This burger was just horrible on so many levels, but most importantly, the 250 gram hunk of meat had turned into a meatball and was DRY and TASTELESS.
