Storm

Featured Replies

A hurricane like storm in Mae Rim currently, trees down and horizontal rain, serious stuff.,

Sustained winds now for ten minutes, but not quite hurricane-like yet. Impressive storm.

What happened to the tmd radar site? Latest date is january with No Data splashed across the map.

You would think that air traffic control would want to provide information on these active thunderstorm cells. This storm is quite powerful. Perhaps they are just not making the information public for some reason.

Winds are quieting down now, rains still quite heavy, in Mae Rim at least - my garden is a mess with branches strewn everywhere, rain water comming out of four below ground four inch blue pipe feeds from the gutters at a truly impressive rate of flow!

It would be interesting to know what the wind speeds were, reminds me very much of the Miami Turnpike in 1984, almost same visuals.

Just hit Saraphi 2 km from Promenada 16:02. Strong gusty wind.

...yeah the reason we all know if you've been here for a while...... " It would be bad for tourism"

as if blowing a plane out of the sky wouldn't be

Well in any event this rain will surely dampen the song-kraners of today.

Hey, they're here to get wet! I think they're getting their wish!

Lot of wind and no rain in Banwangtan ,Hang Dong, power out. Guess it wasn't our turn for much needed rain.

That's the third power cut in BTW lately. Each one getting longer. Wind was far less than the other day too.

Yeah right, tried to plant some trees yesterday and the ground was bone dry.You need days of steady rain, aka rainy season, for it to soak right in not flash flooding that tends to run off.

Anyone who has lived off the land will confirm that fact.Meanwhile the storms just freshen things up if you are lucky to have then fall in your part of the world..

....my part of the world is refreshed, breeze blowin ,sky blue, mountain in view, gongs and drums from the wat, let the madness begin.

Should have mentioned the really heavy rain we had in BWT was at least 2 weeks ago.The last 2 storms have been all wind and little,if any rain. Its a bit of a lottery. It seems that's the way it is until the rainy season finally arrives. Strange the general media doesn't seem to update dam levels as down Phitsanulok way they were down to under 10 % capacity and that was a month ago.

If anyone has a link to dam levels would be interesting

Right, for planting trees it's better to wait until after the hot season. ;) I was thinking of a freshen things up-scenario.
