Prayut asks for understanding from media

There are two critical elements to unifying this country and it's people ... the eradication of corruption and the installation of measurable and effective education.

You need to find someone who isn't corrupt and can't be corrupted and remain complete unbiased to the political factions. Prayut could have been that man but he remains unwilling to lay bare how he managed to become a general and how he managed to accumulate vast wealth. What is lacking is true transparency and until you (the people) have it then distrust will fester and grow.

Once Thailand manages to find an honorable, decent and respectable human being they can't move on and as usual the education system will continue to fail the masses so that they remain ignorant and therefore cannot voice an educated opinion or see the real truth.

Geographically Thailand could truly be a great nation and prosper but sadly there are forces at work that are only interested in their own self-worth and how they can retain ultimate power that ultimately continues to enrich them.

He already said he would try to be more calm after he spat his dummy at the media about 3 months ago. Now he's saying it again.

Upon which time will he really mean it?

It's all lovely words and no lovely deeds. Let's wait and see how long it will be before he shoots himself in the foot again with his brand new Russian gun...

or maybe his new chinese gun ?
Or when he puts his new Chinese ammunition in his new Russian gun and it jams.....

In another few months, we shall find that this was all for nothing. The economy will tank by his hand and by natural, economic cycles. The people in Isaan and the north will still vote contrary to his and other elitist wishes. Investors will not jump back right away. Very little will change and happiness will not be a product of this coup.

The media in Thailand have their own agenda and the well being of the country does not feature on that list.

I now accept that every institution in Thailand which has any kind of influence has been bought or lives with the prospect of serious retaliation if they go against the grain (financial or grenades on gateposts). These people are planning for what comes after the Junta : they know full well that they will not stay in power for much longer - and anyone who supported them will be 'repaid' when the wheels of corruption start turning again.

Forgive these posters, Prime Minister, as they know not what they do or say.

I would also suggest an attitude adjustment or a new head transplant for them.

Your choice Sir, you always know what is best for the people.

PS, your posterior is particularly tasty tonight.

"despite that they were the group of people who always rejected to enter legal process"

Since when do any of the Thai military coups follow any legal process? It would follow then that Prayut is a critic of his own NCPO group. He can tolerate his own criminal actions because he has justified them and gives the coup command amnesty for any and all its actions. And this is a basic problem for Thai society in that the military has placed itself above the sovereignty of the Thai people.

Take it easy.

A tyrant or dictator never subordinates at any level (c.f. Aristotle, Plato, and etc, N.B. 377859).

He asked for cooperation from the media to stop running comments from people who always complaining of injustices or being treated unjustly despite that they were the group of people who always rejected to enter legal process, and always denied doing wrong even though evidence was apparent.

let's examine that claim, shall we... whistling.gif

complaining ...

On August 16, 2012, Prayuth told the Justice Ministry’s Department of Special Investigation to stop accusing soldiers of killing demonstrators during the government’s crackdown on the “Red Shirt” protest in 2010 and not to report publicly on the progress of its investigations

denying doing wrong, ....

Prayuth has denied any army abuses during the violence in which at least 98 people died and more than 2,000 were injured, despite numerous accounts by witnesses and other evidence.

even though evidence was apparent....

“Abuses by soldiers took place in full view of the Thai public and the world’s media, yet the Thai army chief is now trying to intimidate investigators and critics into silence,”

Then, of course, rejecting the legal process, let's forget May 22nd and just go with, ...

Prayuth is also using Thailand’s archaic criminal defamation law to deter public criticism,

Not to mention, ...

Not one soldier or official has been held accountable for the 2010 violence as criminal investigations have, progressed very slowly.

Just one of many examples...

does the dear general realize just how transparently stupid he is ???

Shouldn't that read " you know what is best for some of the people " ?

As a hint how about his handpicked cronies starting with ' don't question where their wealth came from ' !

That's somewhat ambitious Suffinator and seems to misunderstand Prayuth's aims. The only corruption that is to be eliminated is Red Shirt corruption. Yellow Shirt corruption is fine and dandy
