My retirement visa expires on 20th April.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I can't get to CW until the 21st to extend/renew visa, a day late.

Is this a problem??

Appreciate any help from you guys who seem to know about all this stuff.

Thanks.

It may be or it might not be. All you can do is ask.

Do you have a "Visa" obtained outside Thailand or an "extension of stay" obtained from immigration ?

Do not forget this did not have to be left until the last minute.

A couple of years ago I was told by an imm officer at CW that my 400,000bht for my Non Imm 'O' extension was two days short of two months in my account. She told me to return in two days time, and that she would then charge me two days overstay. She wrote this on my papers. This was all done with a big smirk on her face On my return to CW, I ended up with the same b#tch, and ended up paying a 2000bht

fine.

I hope you don't get the same woman.

I assume you will be applying for an extension of stay based upon retirement.

They will more than likely do your extension after you pay a 500 baht overstay fine. That is if you have all the required documents and the financial proof needed.

nz expat, thank you for your comment. My post was written to illustrate the fact that the OP would probably pay a fine. My language was used to illustrate my feelings against this officer. I should have included some additional background in my post, but didn't.

When my wife and I entered her booth, we both wai'd and said good morning. The officer didn't even acknowledge us. I passed my papers to her, she briefly looked at them and then threw them back to us along with her comments. At no time did she look at me. I would speak to her, and she would reply to my wife. I'm not sure about things in NZ (I assume that's where you're from) but I consider that to be bad manners, hence the term b#tch.

My wife was upset enough to submit a complaint form about the officer.

Hope that clears things up for you.

No doubt the IO was much to polite to mention what she thought about the arrogant, bad mannered person who could not be bothered to ensure his application was in order.

Doubt the "complaint" was even considered !

The application was incomplete ! End of story and not the fault of the IO

No reason to get bent out of shape when you were able to do the extension 30 days before the date which is now up to 45 days early. Poor planning on your part is not their fault. She actually was fairly decent seeing as she could have made you start all over with a totally new visa.
