Hello and Sawasdee khrap,

I've met my wife when her son just turned four and we live together since then.I was asking a guy at the German embassy when we got married 1 years ago, but he told me that the chances would be very slim to get this through.

Well,, as life goes, I later started to work here and a sort of forgot about the adoption. I've posted this here, because there're so many different stories and information on the web.I'd deeply appreciate to find out from somebody who adopted his son, or daughter fist hand.

My son had never seen his biological father, as my wife left him while she's pregnant. Nobody even knows where the guy's living and he never even tried to get in touch with my wife, or his son.

Can I just go to my provincial office, where wife and son are registered and go for it, which is 25 km away from Sisaket, or would I also be successful to go to the city hall in Sisaket?

I'm working as an English teacher for ten tears, am a tourist police volunteer and do have a few good friends in higher positions. How, better said, where do I start?

I'm also planning to do the German adoption, which seems to be a difficult part, because then my government would have to pay child support.

Any useful input is deeply appreciated. Thanks for your time and consideration.

You can check with the amphur where the child is registered if you are registered as the legal father of the child, as you are married to the mother. If not, you can ask the amphur to recognize you as the legal father, with approval of mother and child. (if child is 7 years or older).

Thanks a lot. I don't think that I'm registered as the legal father, as producer's name's in the birth certificate.

But that shouldn't be a problem at all,as I know quite a few people in this Amphur office and I also had to go there with my mother and father in law, when we got married.

Son'r already 16 and we live together for 13 years. My son had never seen his biological father.

Will try that next week and hope that it won't take too long. Thanks for your post.
