Facebook demands passport scan

Featured Replies

My FB name has been KRU followed by MY FIRST NAME.

Now FB won't even let me log on.

Am seriously displeased but guess, Big Brother has reasons for this.

Have some of you stopped using FB as a consequence? Any advice?

Could be that they think this is a second account- which is against their terms and conditions. Nothing says you have to use your real name.

First time that I heard about this.

And Google reveals that this is required in case that you have locked out (account blocked) or want to shutdown/remove the account.

Maybe... When I unlocked an FB account by submitting a copy of passport. They DID change the name of the account to the name on the passport. That would imply to me, that they want you to use your real name!

Sure, its their dream to have as much real data as possible.

I read that Windows 10 will offer login by fingerprinting and this fingerprint data can then also be used to login at sites on the internet.

Combined with the fact that the fingerprint is mandatory on all passports (and so in all kind of government databases worldwide) a "dream" comes true whistling.gif

The end of anonymity in the internet.

My FB name is Somchai ... BTW cheesy.gif

I have an account under a false name just so I can log in if I get a link I want to follow. I sure don't have any pictures of myself or personal information. I don't understand why anyone would put personal info on the net including fingerprints.

Absolutely agree.

What you may not realize is that the facebook cookie lasts for 2 years.

Basically they see every site you visit, allegedly for the purpose of advertising.

This is also true even if you don't have an account.

They are tightening the net, as MrBENQ said the dream is coming true.
