We stay in Hang Dong and last time I checked the bags were everywhere. If they would stop the scheme it would end up in an environmental disaster. Perhaps your place adopted a different system like garbage bins, but then these should be provided.

No garbage bins, just the bags. As I said, they used to be available in local shops but were pulled from all of them. Now people have only one source.

Perhaps someone overcharged like for lottery tickets, the bags cost 6B or 7B, depending on the store. Here it was already mentioned 9B. That's a hefty 50% margin. So that may be a reason too. If you go to the sub district, ask, or let someone ask, who speaks Thai.

In my neighborhood they pulled them from all the local shops. That's why I posted the question because I couldn't understand the locals' directions to the government location. I don't know why they made the change but it's a big pain to have to make a special trip, and to have to fill out your personal info, to pick up garbage bags.

I am sure you could find somebody in your neighborhood to pick them up for you for a small fee or maybe for free. Alternlatively just buy 100 next time and you will not have to go again for a year.

Gonzo, you could cheat the system, but everyone would know the rubbish you left out in the street not being picked up was yours,

Definitely! It's always the orange ones belonging to the Ferang..

So in a way Rim Ping produces plenty white trash bags, colored orange. wink.png
