Breaking contract with TRUE

Featured Replies

I have to leave Thailand unexpectedly and I went to cancel my service with TRUE for my apartment.

They told me it's a 2,500 THB cancellation fee because apparently I had a one year contract.

I never signed anything.

What would happen if I just left? 2,500 is a lot of money for me right now.

Thanks

Nothing would happen but there's a good chance you won't get your deposit back when they find you have unpaid outstanding invoices.

I have found a lot of places won't refund a deposit until some time after you've moved out, if ever.

Of course this varies in different places and depends on the person. For example where I live right now I paid no deposit at all.

Did you not sign papers when they installed the service?

Usually they make you sign them when they install the box

If not ... then they have nothing on you

If you did sign paper work it will be marked in the terms of service - written in Thai

If you are sure you did not sign anything, then ask to see the paper work / contract

Tell them you've already paid the 2500 baht to the bloke that had a copy of the contract you signed.

you can suspend contract with true - 3 months at a time and you can do it 2 times which could help

go and ask in the shop - it is not much to suspend
