I am quite well aware that it is hard to discuss the future without bringing up historical points, but the discussion cannot be allowed to dwell on the history of the area.

Abbas accidentally told the truth recently, namely that the Palestinians and Jordanians were in fact one people living in two states. In light of this fact would it not be a more realistic solution for Jordan to become the Palestinian state, as was originally envisaged by Lord Balfour. After all many of the Palestinian leaders have Jordanian citizenship.
