Did I imagine that just 24 hours ago he stressed that the rule of law must be followed. Today's outburst said that basically when he thinks he has bought enough support from the retarded and feeble-minded, screw the rule of law and democracy, he will rally his slackjaws and attempt to gain control over Thailand through terrorism. Entirely predictable IMO.

By 'retarded and feeble-minded', are you referring to a large portion of the electorate?

Just want to know where you're coming from.

A large portion, but less than 50%, is that what you are referring to? Interesting to see that Thaksin's bald lies and absolutely contradicting himself publicly in less than 24 hours does not take the shine off him for the enamored.

Pats on the back to Baker,Bell,Botts ,Peroff and big Bobby A. You polished a turd boys.

according to the last 10 years, Thaksin won all elections. So he will be backupped by at least 50% of the population and will still be whatever the General might do. To accept the reality is one requirement and sign of democracy even if you don't like it.

Illusion...? Delusion...?

Love him or hate him: 1. He knows it is a waiting game, and he has the time while others may not.

2. There is no other personality that comes close to him in the public arena.

Obviously, you, you love him... Must be because of his proverbial honesty and modesty... Heil Thaksin, our Great Leader! gigglem.gif

He is biding his time trying to think of another scam to buy an election win for his next proxy PM as he is a gutless chicken and won't return to serve his sentence, or face the rest of the charges.

Trouble for him is after the mess he got Yingluck into very few would want to be his proxy and Yaowapha is too ugly to be elected PM, so that only leaves Oak..

Also he is having trouble of how to organise another scam to buy the farmers votes as again after what they went through, only the brainwashed Red Shirts & UDD supporters will vote for anything he comes up with.

Well in the past 10 years, PTP (or equivalent) didn't win 50% of the vote in 2007 or 2011, so it's a bit presumptuous to assume that "at least 50% of the population" supports Thaksin

Labeling his supporters as retarded and feeble minded is rather disingenuous, not to say slanderous. How can you blame them for supporting someone who appeared to care and listen to their problems. The Democrats had the same opportunities, even more as they have been around since long before the Thaksin machine and its many incarnations came into play, but screwed up and never took advantage of their situation. They refuse to adapt and change, going so far as to ostracize any members who dare to suggest a shakeup of the party leadership and the way it operates - blame others and never accept the obvious which is they have no idea about actually reaching out to the people outside their existing support base. And ride on the coattails of whoever will get them into power.

Not quite all elections.

During the term of the Yingluck Govt there were 4 by-elections, 3 were considered safe PT seats.

PT only won one of these and that was the seat previously held then vacated by the driver of Yinglucks older sister, once her term of 5 year ban from politics was over her driver MP suddenly got sick and resigned his seat so older sister stood in the by-election. The majority she got in the by-election was less than her driver got in the general election.

Of the other 3 By-elections 2 of which were supposed to be safe PT seats the democrats won all 3 with the seat of Don Muang showing a 12% swing from PT to the democrats.

There was also the BKK mayoral election which Thaksin boasted they would win even if they put up a power poll as a candidate, perhaps they should have for their candidate lost.

I don't see Thaksin ever coming back to Thailand. Possibly when he is dead to be buried but even thats not certain. When you start an uprising , fund the men in black armed with war weapons, fund a bombing campaign killing innocent people, and kill a lot of young guys in the Thai army. You have to win to be able to come back. He didn't win and he can't be pardoned for that much mayhem and damage to the country. Its too big a hurdle to cross.

Irresponsible to give false hope to his blind faithful supporters. He is finished politically and the fugitive criminal knows it if he has any brain cells

'Irresponsible to give false hope to his blind faithful supporters'

Well said!

Khun Thaksin take it from an outsider , don't return , you done your dash when you went to the Beijing Games then flew the coup to the UK , I have no objection to you returning to your home country , indeed it would be nice if you could return home after statute of limitations expires , if your track record had been perfect, however , think of Thailand , even if you think only of those 4,500 families that lost loved ones in the supposed drugs purge campaign in the North , you would understand your return Khun Thaksin might not be good for Thailand's health.

your return Khun Thaksin might not be good for Thailand's health. Or for your´s.

Two of those elections were nullified; the 2006 one for cheating and the 2013 one for not having enough support to get their MPs elected. Those 'allied parties' were, actuality, created and controlled by Thaksin.

Delusional.

Delusional, yes, because if/when he comes back, there is a ton more criminal cases against him, some that don't have a 10-year statute of limitations, least of all the mass slaughter of people denied formal justice during his anti-drug-shoot-to-kill campaign in 2003. Keep dreaming in your oasis, with a little hope your karma will catch up with you.

In an interview screened on CNN this morning, he was asked what he thought of the charges [sic] against himself. His reply was that he thought they were designed to prevent him returning to Thailand.

Nothing of the sort! He is absolutely free to return any time he wants. A jail cell awaits.

And in the same CNN interview he says several times, as before 'I have done nothing wrong'.

Wrong!!

Mr T is not a very smart guy. Being polite, I will call him average in the IQ department.

Remember his attempt to bribe the judge (cake box money), his 1 million cow project, using fighter jets for veggie-export or now latest the rice-scam.

Are those projects of a political mastermind?

Of course not, but thankfully for him the audience, he is playing to, are equally stupid!!

Give me Surin Pitsuwan and/or Korn Chatikavanij any day of the week!!

You say the poor can spend money but not the money you stole from them. You do not want strong support base you want amnesty. Do not do the crime if you can not serve the time!

The longer Thaksin has to wait, the more people realize they can do just fine without him. Besides, his recent comments show he is losing his mental capacity and becoming even more grandiose and delusional.

There is no other personality that comes close to him in the public arena.

Sure there are: Hun Sen, Robert Mugabe... oops, they are still in power. What public arena are we talking about? Dubai? Montenegro? Where exactly is Thaksin's public arena?

You keep hope alive. Hang on to that dream that Thaksin will come back and regain his old power. It seems that's all you have.

In the most recent election, February 2013, his candidates ran unopposed (the Democrats boycotted) and yet his candidates couldn't get 40% turnout to put Yingluck back in office. His candidates couldn't win enough seats to satisfy the minimum to form a Parliament. He turned a lot of his supporters off when he tried to give amnesty to Suthep and Abhisit and since then, his supporters are wondering where the 700 baht for the Rice Scheme went because they only saw 10% of it. The Northerners and Isaan people's eyes are open now and Dr. Thaksin's time has passed but you keep the faith and never give up, K?

BTW, Dr. Thaksin is a convicted felon and ineligible to hold office though he could do like drug dealers who are in prison and run Thailand from a prison cell via mobile phone. He has enough money to bribe a guard to get him a phone.
